Some people do, some people don't (which I guess are the only two choices ) so Crappers, do you believe in Bigfoot? I personally do, but I'm curious to see if I'm alone here.

"I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry, and that's extra scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside. Run, he's fuzzy, get out of here. " -Mitch Hedberg

No, not really.
However until every square inch of Earth is studied and uncovered, one can't say for sure.
So, I don't know.

Considering how pretty much every single culture in the world has at least ONE version of Bigfoot(some, like Native American and modern day American culture have dozens of Bigfoot-like creatures), I say there is SOMETHING out there, especially since a good chunk of these sightings are in places without bears or primates(other than humans), which are the two most commonly used animals as a "mistaken creature".

The fact that not a single piece of credible scientific evidence has EVER turned up. And the fact that the total number of these things would have to be in the thousands, if not hundred of thousands, in order for every story to be true (the land distance and spread of the sightings is HUGE).
I've gotta go with no. SOMETHING other than footprint casts and shady videos/pictures. But alas, nothing as EVER been found.

The default position is disbelief however and I must see evidence to prove the contrary. So the answer is no, but I don't know. You know?

I just have to say no. You'd think one would have been shot, hit by a car, ect by now.

It really wouldn't surprise me if there were a few tall, hairy, uncivilized savages hanging out in the forests or woods.
I don't know if I can say I believe in Bigfoot, but I won't dispute the existence of certain variants on the legend.

After all, I spent YEARS of my childhood reading about the Giant Squid and thought that it would never end up being discovered...and I was wrong about that. So I could be about Big Foot as well. Ya never know is a good answer.

That could be due to left over legends from our ancestors about fellas like gigantopithecus, and some of the other giant apes that are now extinct.

All we have in terms of evidence supporting the existence of a Bigfoot type monster is footprints, blurry/grainy video, and unknown audio. What we haven't found in the realm of evidence of existence are things like droppings, bones, living areas, things like that. Yes, we haven't searched every inch of this planet, but we have satellites pointed in every direction that can read your license plate. The possibility of a Bigfoot escaping notice for this long is very small.

I believe we have people who love hoaxes and are more than willing to put on gorilla costumes and get filmed on 9 mm film to perpetuate them. It's just like the Loch Ness monster, even after the seminal photo "proving" it was admitted as a fake, people will still believe it's true. Hoaxes are strong.
And I don't think the comparisons to sea creatures is quite right. We've explored less than 5 percent of our oceans, but in the areas where Bigfoot has been sighted has been combed over with no other real, physical evidence of it. We would have found a corpse by now.

I think it's possible there is something out there escaping our eyes, considering we are finding new animals and species that we never knew about every day.

One of my friend's uncles, swears he saw one in the late 70's. The story goes, him and a friend were returning home from a golf course and they were on a secluded two lane road when they saw something big, hairy, and walking upright. He said the thing froze in the headlights and both of them screamed like little girls. He gunned his car in reverse and got the hell out of there. Normally, I'd scoff at the story, but he's a pretty level-headed guy and I've only heard him tell the story one. Every other time I've asked him about it, he refuses to talk about it.
