... I gave a YT link of the commercial for my song. As did I Ah,. I feel like a little bit of a jerk then. There was only one commercial link on the list I had. In a lot of cases, though, I did know the commercial well enough as to where that wasn't all that much of an issue.

do spinal tap or hannah montana count? also, NINTH?! Both would be allowed. As for the Commercial issue, I will take responsibility for that. The reason I asked for the links to the commercial was not for judging, but to verify that it WAS from a commercial. I should have specified that, and I apologize for it.

For clarification, I judged (and will judge) mostly on the songs themselves. Yes, there is a little room for me to boost your score based on if it fit the commercial (it helped Meatloaf slightly), but if you give me an awesome song, I'm probably not going to deny it because another song is a niche fit for a particular purpose/round theme. There are exceptions, of course (such as "cartoon theme" round) but there are a a lot of *awesome* songs featured in commercials that I don't really think have anything to do with the product they're supporting, and in a "music competition," I wouldn't have held back in giving said songs highest rankings. Hope that makes sense.
EDIT: That being said, you can't submit "Let It Be" for the "country music round" and expect to get a high ranking.

lol - at me being grouped as evil. In all, you all did a pretty good job. Hopefully this gives you an idea of my judging style, just because you pick something iconic doesn't mean you will score well with me. Take a risk or 2, I know I have in this competition. It's much more fun than playing it safe all the time. That's how I used to judge too, so I agree wholeheartedly. The next round is probably one of the more difficult rounds for me. === I'm very happy "I Look Good in Leather" scored highly amongst the judges. I didn't hesitate once I saw the theme; I was waiting so long to use that song last competition, before I lost. Such a great strutty and cool song, and hah, just like jazzman said; it's like my theme music. === I also started the first round of WCI2, at the top for a while. So with that theme, while we wait, I will share my highest scoring song choices from the last comp, which also scored #1 for it's theme: Fountains of Wayne - Stacy's Mom (One Hit Wonders, Top 7) www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZLfasMPOU4Jason Mraz - The Remedy (Debut Albums, Round #1) www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW17WAwMcoQ\Hoku Ho - Another Dumb Blonde (Guilty Pleasures, Top 8) Enjoy.

My entry is in. I really hope this breaks my cycle of terrible choices. I don't want to go out first again.
If I get a good score for this round...HOROWITZ WINS! HOROWITZ WINS!

The good news: the picks are now in the judges' hands.
The bad news: somebody IS gonna get it.

Before we get into the contest, we have some business to take care of. Since we only have 12 contestants, there will be a slight change to the rules. The first two rounds will still be non-elimination, but round three will only see two contestants leave the competition. Scores will be reset after round three, and we will proceed as planned. Ah, that's right. Neither of you chose anything. You're both still in the competition, but if either of you fails to submit a pick next round, you will be eliminated. The good news: the picks are now in the judges' hands. The bad news: somebody IS gonna get it. Sounds like someone didn't get their picks in

I'm sure some will surprise, especially the fact that I got them done so quickly.

Sent mine. There's one "band" that I'm shocked no one picked, because it was actually the first one I thought of when I read this category. One of your selections, although it wasn't my number one, made me ridiculously happy.

LIVE, from wherever your computer is located, THIS... is WRESTLECRAP IDOL! (Intro music plays) Hello, I'm THE Baldy Kendrick, and welcome to the Wrestlecrap Idol Results Show! Last time, we had two contestants not submit a song last time. If either of them missed this round, they are eliminated. Did they step up their games this round? Let's find out. CageKing, please step forward... Cage, last round, you selected... nothing. This round, you selected... Spinal Tap's "Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight." You had nowhere to go but up, but was it enough to jump out of the Bottom 3? {Spoiler}No, it was not. I'm sorry, but you're still in the bottom 3. Ravishing One, please step forward... Ravishing, last round, you selected... nothing. This round, you selected... nothing. With two consecutive missed rounds, I have no choice but to eliminate you. That means that one of the other competitors must be in the Bottom 3. Strykerdarksilence, please step forward... Stryker, you entered the day in the Bottom 3. Your selection was Mystik Spiral's "Freakin' Friends." The judges have spoken, Stryker. You are... {Spoiler}OUT of the Bottom 3! Congratulations! Gus Richlen, please step forward... Gus, you started this round in 9th, just one point outside of the Bottom 3. Your choice this round was Eddie & The Cruisers' "On The Dark Side." Was your choice enough to stay out of the Bottom 3? {Spoiler}Was it ever! Your song received the best score of the round! Freddie is Steve is UT, please step forward... UT, you started the day in the Bottom 5, just three points outside of the Bottom 3. Your selection was the only one from a video game, Milkcan's "Fright Flight." Was it enough to put you out of the Bottom 5? {Spoiler}It was not. You're not in the Bottom 3, but you're headed the wrong way. You're safe... for now. Sudden Rush, Evil M-eanie, and An Orange With No Name, please step forward... You three composed the Top 3 after the first round. Rush, your choice this round was "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love" by The Blues Brothers. M-eanie, your choice was the self titled song by Timmy & the Lords of the Underworld. Orange, your choice was a personal favorite, The Beets' "Killer Tofu." The good news: all three of you are safe, and two of you are still the Top 2. The bad news: one of you dropped all the way to 8th. That person is... {Spoiler}Evil M-eanie. You're still safe, but you've got some work to do. Undisputed Evil Double H and Sweet n' Sour, please step forward... You both started the day in the middle of the pack, and you both went to movies for your pick this round. Double H, you chose "School of Rock" by the School of Rock from the movie... uh, "School of Rock." Sweet, you went with perhaps the Blues Brothers' best-known song, "Soul Man." The judges have spoken... {Spoiler}...and you're both STILL in the middle of the pack. That leaves two. One of you will be in the Bottom 3. Michael Hayden, El Hoochadore... please step forward. You each entered the day tied for 5th. One of you remained in the middle of the pack. The other struggled mightily and fell into the Bottom 3. You both took some risks with this round. Michael, your choice was a pick from a kid's movie, Powerline's "i 2 i." El Hooch, you went with Mystik Spiral's "Every Dog Has Its Day"... all 20 seconds of it. For one of you, it paid off. But for the other, your choice was an express ticket to the Bottom 3. The judges have spoken. The person headed to the Bottom 3 is... {Spoiler}El Hoochadore.
I'm sorry, but you will have some work to do to avoid elimination. Your scores for Round 2: {Spoiler}

LIVE, from wherever your computer is located, THIS... is WRESTLECRAP IDOL!
(Intro music plays)
Hello, I'm THE Baldy Kendrick, and welcome back to Wrestlecrap Idol!
This is a weekend for goodbyes. We've already said goodbye to one contestant, and we will say goodbye to another after this round. To avoid that fate, you need to select the best song you can think of.
Or so you would think.
At the risk of pissing off my judges, we are saying goodbye to good taste this round. This will be the...
WORST. ROUND. EVER.
Your task: select the WORST song you can think of. A couple caveats: The song MUST be commercially released (so random amateur covers do not count). Also, I'm enforcing a William Hung rule: Songs released specifically for their lack of quality will not be allowed. Other than that, normal restrictions apply.
You have approximately 73 hours and 43 minutes to send in your link. The link must be submitted by Monday night, 11:59pm central. Best of luck to all of you!

Stryker: How'd you manage to find a video of Freakin' Friends? All the ones I came across were non-existent thanks to those sue-happy folks at Viacom.
Well done, good sir.
