I actually managed to buy Caddyshack II twice. I don't even know how that happened. Unless I was thinking I was getting a great deal on the first one. I'm more surprised someone bought Caddyshack 2 twice.

The twice the Jackie Mason action. I don't think Man was meant to have that.

I rebought the Doors after a new edition came out with docs and stuff, the original was just a single disk and it's special feature was "menus and closed captions!".
I also have a second copy of Penn & Teller: Bullshit! season 3 floating around somewhere. I think season 3 was the first one I bought, but when I went to buy 1 and 2 it was cheaper to buy all 3 as a bundle, so I did.

I don't care what anyone says, I like Caddyshack 2, not better than the first but I like it. As for the topic at hand, I also own Fight Club on DVD and Blu Ray. Isn't the original 2 disc set pretty hard to find now? EDIT: Amazon only has 1 left in stock.

The only one I can think of is buying the 2-disc special edition of Zombi 2 to replace the 1-disc Anchor Bay version of Zombie (which was still pretty good), though I'm sure I've done it with other movies.
I thought about doing it for a bargain bin 4-disc set of blaxploitation movies when I found pretty much the same one at Wal-Mart for $5, only one of the discs was replaced with The Black Six (which Cinema Snob fans might remember) and The Black Gestapo. Seriously, how do I not own a movie called The Black Gestapo already?

Yup. Sometimes I've bought the same movies 3 times.
Spaceballs (VHS to original DVD to 2 disc Collector's Edition) Clerks (VHS to original DVD to Clerks X) Mallrats (VHS to original DVD to 10th Anniversary Edition) Chasing Amy (VHS to Criterion DVD) The first 8 Friday the 13th movies (The old crappy DVDs to the box set. I got the deluxe edition of The New Blood, so that makes 3 for that one, too) Halloween (original DVD to 25th Anniversary Edition) Star Wars Trilogy (Remastered VHS to Special Edition box set)

For me, it's the original Toxic Avenger. 1. VHS 2. Original 1997 DVD 3. Limited edition DVD signed and numbered by Lloyd Kaufman 4. The Tox Box Trilogy box set 5. The 21st Anniverary DVD (featuring yours truly) I'm sure there will be 6 and 7 at some point, as I need to pick up the new box set to get the complete Toxic Crusaders series that comes with it, as well as the Blu-ray when it is released. Geez, and I thought I made Lucas rich.

Star Wars. Granted, every set has something new, so it's not like it's the same film. However, I'm holding out for the Blu-Ray Archival edition.

I've replaced a lot of VHS tapes I had with DVDs and subsequently got rid of them.
Bad Lieutenant Blue in the Face Clerks Escape from New York Ferris Bueller's Day Off Gangster No. 1 The Hollywood Sign Jakass the Movie Reservoir Dogs Shaft Shanghai Knights Shanghai Noon Sin City Trees Lounge UHF
I'm sure I'm missing a few kung fu movies.
The only DVDs I've ever bought twice were kung fu movies. I bought Bruce Lee & Kung Fu Mania as a single disc for $3.99. Then bought the exact same copy in a boxed set for $5.99 with three other DVDs. Another one I had... Fist of Fear, Touch of Death on a double feature.
I also got doubles of The Street Fighter and The Bodyguard with Sonny Chiba. The first I replaced with a double feature of TSF and Return of TSF. The second I mistakenly bought again as it was in one of those cardboard envelope style boxes.
Then I ended up getting a bix three disc set of kung fu with nine movies for $6 at the Dollar General because it had like two or three movies I didn't have. I know I ended up again with another The Street Fighter, RoTSF, as well as Blood of the Dragon and other stuff. The quality of those discs aren't that great though.
Finally, I know I ended up with three copies of Sister Street Fighter as I had ordered one off amazon, then picked up a Femme Fatale set with it on and finally got that three disc set. I gave the stand alone to a friend as well as most of my other doubles that didn't have much difference between quality.

I think season 3 was the first one I bought, but when I went to buy 1 and 2 it was cheaper to buy all 3 as a bundle, so I did. Yeah, this is happening a good bit now. Especially when Target (and others I think) put two seasons out for $15.

I've done that with the first three Police Academy movies and National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1 when I got two seperate sets(Police Academy 1 through 4; PA 5, 6, & Mission to Moscow with Loaded Weapon 1).
I also bought Revenge of the Nerds 1 & 2 when I got the Atomic Wedgie Collection, and Great Teacher Onizuka Volume 1 when I got the box sets.
There should be a seperate thread for video games, since I did that some of the Final Fantasy games for sure.
Edit: Somebody mentioned Caddyshack II and I admit that I liked it as a kid. Randy Quaid owned that movie:(Language warning)

I bought Van Damme's Timecop twice. Once with the 4 pack and again when it was packaged with Bloodsport. The first time I got it for Christmas, and the second time I just bought it for Bloodsport.
