I know that Koda is a developer (he's got something in the Apple iTunes catalog, and I apologize for the vagueness but I don't quite remember what it is), but that's about all I know.

My friend works for the Official Xbox Magazine if that counts, just recently done an interview with Street Fighter's Yoshinori Ono (which required him to fly to New York, lucky sod), But I'll be working towards his type of career of journalism. I know other friends who've worked for SEGA and Capcom respectively too.

Well, for a while I worked for a copyright enforcement company, specialized in locating Warez sites and getting them shut down. That was a while back. I also have some of my character designs (artwork, really) in the Dungeon Hack game.
One of the major changes to the City of Heroes game (how the ability "Defiance" works) was made on my suggestion.
I still don't think that really makes me part of the 'industry'. IMO, you not only need to have published a game but be acknowledged by your peers and have some connections within the industry outside of your agent. Otherwise you just did some shit.

Currently working for a company designing a demo to show off to developers. Unfortunately, I did sign a confidentiality agreement, so I can't say much at all. But it is a legit thing.

I'll be heading to Japan for 9 months to research Capcom, SNK and those in the Taito Arcade business for my scholarship next year.
I won't exactly be working in the industry, but I'll be behind the scenes with the creators and probably get a peek of what they're working on. If all goes well, I might end up with a job offer from one of the aforementioned companies.

As a serious answer(not that I'm enjoying some of these joke answers, pretty good ones), I am in the industry as an independent developer.
Just about the only insider info, I got right now relates to my current platform(s) in the business, the iDevices(iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad). Right now the big news is Apple is going to be f***ing over, oh, damn near 90% of the developers of iDevice games. Their iPhone OS 4.0 update is basically going ban the development tool programs that have anything to do with Adobe/Flash, this includes things like Unity 3D, Torque, and could possibly even include the tool program I use, GameSalad. There are two main theories as for why, 1) They just REALLY hate Adobe/Flash and 2) Because supposedly apps made with Flash or something related to Flash can't be used in the "multitasking" feature of the OS 4.0. Both theories come to the same result, Apple just wants apps made with their first party Xcode coding program, C++, or Object-C.
So, as if the bullshit set up to the iPad App Store on launch day didn't piss off most of Apple's developers, this could be the nail in the coffin, cause, let's face it, almost noone who makes/made a game app for the iDevices knows how to properly code, or at least code in Xcode. Most of us used these third party dev tool programs to get around our current weakness to make games(and hopefully money).....
