I think the worst thing a girl can say to a guy is, "you're like a brother to me." I am pretty sure that's the one that hurts the most. To the Ozarks!Edit: After reading page 2. Ummmmm, to Canada!

You know whats worse?
Dating a girl for 17 days and being cheated on 3 times in those 17 days. Than broken up without explanation.
You know whats just as bad?
A girl giving you all the implication the world that she likes you. You treat her better than her boyfriend and she has even told you that you are more of a boyfriend to her than her own is. Than you ask her and she denies you.
The 2nd part was my summer.

Okay, there are rednecks. Believe me, living in Tennessee all my life, I know this. I've never seen the always-implied incest, but I guess people think that's too good of a joke to drop it. But look at it like this: if someone says, "That black dude must be on his way to get some fried chicken and watermelon. Hope he doesn't steal someone's car to do it," someone will call him out on it, and rightfully so. But if someone says, "That redneck must be on his way to f*** his sister. I hope his pig doesn't get too jealous," well, that's just funny and no one says anything about it. It doesn't bother me so much that people make jokes. There are jokes told every day about every group you can think of. What bothers me is that with every other group, people stand up and say that it's wrong. With us, we "need to relax and learn how to take a joke," or "we bring it on ourselves." It's a double standard that no one gives a damn about. I've finally gotten tired of it. Something I forgot to add earlier - in Central New York, there's some rural regions not too far from my own home with an exceedingly high rate of retardation and other developmental disabilities in children. Take one guess as to why that is. The fact is, hicks and rednecks aren't limited to one part of the country, just like sophisticated, artistic people aren't only in Northern cities or California. William Faulkner, Reynolds Price, and Mark Twain are among the best writers in American history, and I don't think anybody ever mistook them for Yankees. Man, this thing got off-topic. Back on point: I see a lot of guys here complaining about the friend zone. If that's happening consistently to you, try acting quicker. If you don't establish physical and romantic interest pretty early, you may be getting typecast as a good friend. Think of it like being an actor - you need to show range early on. You're not just the comic relief or quirky character actor, but a potential leading man. (You may also want to try also hanging out with girls you're not interested in dating, but I'm going to give everyone here the benefit of the doubt and assume that you're all already doing this - right?)

It's especially painful when the girl was the one who had chased you, only to then pull that out when you're finally single and decide to pursue something with her.

How about when the girl starts using a new brand of mace? Just when I start to build an immunity to the first kind. Oh, that is the absolute worst!

I know this has been mentioned before, but what drove me nuts was hearing "why can't I meet someone like you?" and then you say "well, I am here..." and to which they say "yeah, but...."

Don't let her define your role. If you act like a friend then that's what you'll get classed as. Don't seek approval or go out of your way for her. Just be who you are and if she's not into that she can go hang, plenty of other broads around.
