I don't understand how people can't be excited for this match. Of all the matches on this show, this is the one that makes me happy to be spending my money for WM which I order every year regardless of what matches are on the show. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Agreed. I can almost always understand the other side of the argument. I get why people don't like John Cena even if I don't agree with it. I get why people think WWE and Raw in particular is stale even if I don't really agree. I get why people want to start an appreciation thread when CM Punk farts. I do not understand, how any living breathing wrestling fan, cannot be completely jacked to see this match.

The match at Mania last year should have been a special one off occasion and was built to be that. The crowd loved it, the fans at home loved it, the commantators were into it etc. It was a match we hadn't seen for For me, it shows a lack of creativity that you're giving me the same match AGAIN at WrestleMania when both guys, especially Taker, aren't in the shape they were for that match except now Michaels is putting his career on the line (and will lose, which doesn't help my interest) and it'll be No DQ (which, again, shows they cannot live up to the first one because Taker's banged up) instead of trying for something like HBK/HHH which would have at least been something different because the dynamic would have changed. Again, if they have a good match, I'll check it out. But I've seen it already and it was very special. I don't want to see it again unless they were to do it outside of 'Mania time. And yes, if Michaels requested it, that's good on him to do so. Still doesn't mean I'm interested in seeing it.

One of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time was a rematch from a previous Wrestlemania. Just sayin... Also, don't discount HBK winning this match. I'm actually totally on the fence, and could legit see this go either way. Its either Shawn's retirement, or they're setting up a trilogy of matches with the final encounter being next year in Atlanta. Maybe a three match series was the plan all along?

The last match was good, like you said. So I don't see the problem here... if it's as good as, if not better, than the last, won't that be a good thing? I'm looking forward to the match. I was there live at the last one, so I'm definitely looking forward to the second one.

But even with Austin/Rock, and I know that's what you were implying, there was something different and didn't try to put it on every year. You had a break in between the two. It feels desperate to me immidiantly going to the next match when there were so many interesting directions you can go in. And the result? It's Shawn's 'retirement'. I can't see it as anything else. I can't see them letting Taker lose the streak and Michaels has said alot that he wants to have a lesser sechedule or leave on his own accord. This is him saying 'I'll take a Hogan role every few months to fight someone in a big match'. I can't see it any other way.

when this is the match of the night (and then again when it is match of the year) i hope someone bumps this thread.... Why? If it becomes Match of the Night, great. If it becomes Match of the Year, great. What does that have anything to do with me not caring about seeing it when, in all honesty, I should be excited like most people are? Not to speak for the other poster, but it seems like the thread has become equally as much "This match isn't going to be good" as "This match will be good, but I don't care for various other reasons that are unrelated to match quality." Therefore, it makes sense for the poster to want to bump the thread if the match DOES turn out to be awesome, to remind everyone that two terrific professional wrestlers CAN, in fact, have more than one good match together. But that's just how I took it... he could mean something different.

Hell, I'll go so far as to say I can't see why people ARE so massively excited for this match. Yes, it's HBK/Taker, which means it's guaranteed to be at least 3.5 stars (I use the star rating system, so sue me ) BUT, the end result is painfully obvious to me, unlike last year, where I was almost surely convinced that Shawn could pull it off. And there's the fact that it's a rematch from just last year, only with the combatants less capable due to injury, which means this looks like nothing more than a cheap attempt to recreate last year's encounter. I will give credit for the WWE doing an incredible job of building this up, but the fact is, even with the no DQ stip added in there, I'm still not really looking forward to HBK/Taker II...in fact, I'm probably more excited for HHH/Sheamus, and I mean that.
