Those 4 words and two names are hard for me to say and type. I was one of many who begged, pleaded and pestered everyone about the possibility of HBK/Taker at Mania 25 and when I got it, I watched it and enjoyed the heck out of it.
When HBK tossed the idea out of doing it again at the Slammys, I thought it'd be a throwaway storyline leading to his new 'Mania opponent. Watching Raw and hearing about this added stipulation, I've firmly realised...I don't care anymore.
People are trying to tell me the differences between the two. HBK now wants to put his career on the line against the man who beats him at Mania, he's willing to do anything and wanted his attention badly etc. But the thing is, all of that just feels cheap. HBK putting his career on the line, the match now being some kind of street fight? It feels as though you're having cooks stir a broth that doesn't need that many cooks.
The first match was special not just because we hadn't seen it in over a decade and also because it was two guys who were still in good condition putting on the match of their lives in front of a hometown crowd at the 25th WrestleMania. That's it. Yes, there was a storyline linking it all together but it was WrestleMania and sometimes you don't need the fancy smancy storyline to get people interested. The people still came to the show and the people blew the roof off the place and sometimes, that's all you want from a wrestling match.
They've been trying to perk my interest, I'll give them that. Given me very well done music videos and hype packages showcasing the fued...but I just can't get into it. Every time I watch one of them, it gets me annoyed because of how much I should be in love with a rematch but it's just that I've seen it already. The first match at Mania was awesome, I loved it and it's up with my favourites. Taker's not the same guy he was at Mania and Michaels is still as good as he was, but he's not exactly in prime condition.
Now I look at the rematch and wonder why it's happening. If HBK wanted to go out and get a lighter schedule like this, I'm fine with him wanting it that way. As a viewer, though, I don't see the need. There's no investment to get me interested because I know the outcome already. If the match is good, I'll see it on a later date but it's not a must watch anymore. I have my tresured memory, I don't want another attempt at it when the first one is still sinking into my memory.
I don't really want to push people's buttons with this, I just wanted to vent my frustration.

You're not alone, don't worry.
Even though I have the sig, I am not interested in seeing the match one bit. I just don't want HBK to win it.

Yeah, it seems forced. The only reason I care is because I want HBK to lose and lose clean because I suffer from schadenfreude whenever he's involved in a feud with anyone.

I felt this way up until they added the career stipulation.
I actually agree with a lot of what was said negatively about the build-up, etc but..
As predictable as this match seems to be, I am hoping that whilst watching it live, if only for a second, I think "Shawn's gonna win..". If they make me at least believe the streak might end...I'll be happy.

Agreed. I still don't want to see this match, I don't like this feud any more than I liked the feud last year (and I hated it), and I can think of a million things I'd rather see each guy do.

I personally think that either Undertaker or HBK or both personally requested this match, which is why it is happening. I can see where you are coming from though, but I don't see this as another attempt at what they did last year. I see this as something completely different. The journey that the storyline has taken is that Shawn feels like he cannot be The Showstoppa, the Headliner, the Main Event, Mr. Wrestlemania unless he defeats the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. And he does not want to continue his career if he cannot be that. The loss last year ate away at him and now he must prove to himself that he still is the all those things that he was. The storyline seems so much more personal and I believe in real life it is personal for either or both men. Either a major part of Taker's legacy will be over or Shawn Michaels career will be over. How can it not get anymore personal than that. I'm super hyped for the match. And personally don't care that it is coming right after their match last year. It cannot possibly ruin the memory of their match last year. Just like Flair wrestling again has never and will never ruin my memory of his match with Shawn at WM 24 and the Raw the night after. And seriously, how can this not get you hyped: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO4LpAaZxn0

Here's the thing with me: I still wanna see the match because a part of me doesn't want to see HBK retire and doesn't really know if they're really going to break the Streak this year, but IMHO the new no-DQ stipulation is a bit overkill. I mean, the rematch idea at first was good, then adding the career being put on the line was a great idea because it evens the odds, but IMO they should have stopped at that. I know it might kill the idea of the match ending in a draw or other things like that but still...
What I'm mostly afraid about this match is that with the way it's being hyped, it's probably going to disappoint if it's not at *least* as good as their match last year. I mean, at this rate it's being build bigger than the 2 World titles matches combined IMO, if they don't deliver I'm pretty sure a lot of people will be pissed.

Seems pretty popular and WWE tends to put out good ones, but I don't like it. And I still maintain this match was booked to bail the show out if it sucks again like last year. Only difference being that last year Shawn Michaels was wrestling the Undertaker, not furniture.

1997, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker have a tremendous Hell in a Cell match.
12 years later, both are 12 years older and more broken down than ever.
And what do they do, they go out there at Wrestlemania 25 and tear the house down.
If there are any two wrestlers in the world who can do it, Shawn Michaels and Undertaker can.

I love Zack Ryder, Christian winning Money in the Bank is going to make me mark out, I am happy with the Money in the Bank line-up aside from MVP, Batista / Cena is shaping up to be the best Mania main event in years, despite preferring Punk as a face he is still one hell of a heel, The Miz is the best thing in wrestling today and has actually made me a Big Show fan in the process, Morrison and Truth have natural chemistry as a team and would be worthy tag champions, I love NXT and particularly Bryan and Barrett, I would have loved if they had kept with that idea of a tag match where Bret wins the title even as someone who's not so much a Hart fan, Triple H / Sheamus is a good feud so far and should make for a great match, and if done right this MVPush for McIntyre could actually make people care about him. I think that about sums up everything going on in WWE at the moment I like.

I was hoping for Cena vs Undertaker because he's the only big name left for Taker to face.
Now I have no choice but to watch HBK vs Taker 2.

This HBK-Taker thing is boring me to tears. On TNA, When Sting returned and did what he did the crowd was all into it. I turn to Raw and the fans are taking a nap during Takers-HBK's promo.
Its like you watch a college basketball game with the fans hyped up then watch an NBA game afterwards and the crowds are quiet.
WWE I'm begging you, Shorten up the Taker-HBK video packages.

Why the f*** is Flair wrestling Steambout AGAIN? They already had a match last year.
I'm so sick of these big moments being given to old men when either of these guys could be giving a star of the future like Alex Wright a huge rub and putting him over instead.

I don't mean to bash anyone's opinion, but I really don't get this line of thought at all.
I cannot possibly imagine how any wrestling fan with any sense of history doesn't want to see this match.

But I loved the Dancing Fools... I cared before, but now with this no-DQ foolishness, it just seems like another match. They could have given Sheamus a good showing with Taker, HBK with Trips or Punk, which might have been just as good as what's gonna happen this year. Shawn probably won't retire until he ends up in a wheelchair like Dynamite Kid, and ending Taker's streak just takes away any impact he has at Mania, which could at least be preserved for 20-0. So what's the f***ing point?

Too close to the last time to mean what it should. However, at least it will provide an excuse for HBK (or Taker) to get some off time.

First you state your opinion. Then you try to put it over as fact. Rewatch the segment tonight again. The fans were into that segment with Taker and Michaels like crazy. They were listening intently and reacted at the exact moments they were supposed to. Taker and Michaels had them in the palm of their hands. As secondly, why the hell are you trying to compare that to anything in TNA? I shouldn't feed the trolls, but what the hell.... The fans in the Impact zone are a bunch of old school ECW wannabes losers. They chant "This is Awesome" at nearly anything. They once chanted "You've Still Got It" at an slow, overweight, and crappy Jim Neidhart. You try to use the Impact zone crowd to make a point, however the Impact zone crowd has no credibility at all.

Yeah, don't care much. All of the matches at Mania are big, none of them are very interesting.
