Listen, I'm a Tech guy through and through. This entire thing reeks of Tech "mistakenly" resigning Leach.
I still say this, and I will say it to his face if I ever see him. Adam James is a wuss. Through and through. A useless, couldn't-hack-it-an-ANY-sport-he-played-for useless hack. He dropped out of Tech Baseball because he sucked. Stopped showing up. He wasn't going to be starter, so he walked. There have been a lot of players, coaches, and others who say James portraying himself as the future of sports, but never working, and being lazy. He never tried. He never excerted himself. He was very vocal on "who his daddy was", and how good of a player his dad was. He would be very vocal in the locker room about how he should be the focus of the team; how players should IGNORE THE COACHES.
HOWEVER
Tech did state, at the end, that they have expectations of their coaches. Leach didn't agree. That, ultimately, was the reason he was fired.
Tech is dead wrong on this. DEAD wrong! But his refusal to agree with Tech's "no picking on the puss-puss" rule was the reason he was fired.
I still support Leach 100%. I think he was completely in the right. If James is going to be a wimp, and show up to practice with civilian clothes, sunglasses, and an iPod, refuse to do ANY exercise that day (a fact that ESPN "forgets" to mention), then I would do the exact same thing my own damn self. I'm Texan guy who believes that, while you come in WITH my respect, it's can be easily lost through unjust egotistic attitudes, laziness, and misinforming people to disobey those in authority. I would do the same damn thing. Hell, I'd make him wear a pink "I'm a locker room poison" shirt.

are they going to call ANY f***ing penalties against Michigan State? Jeez! First quarter, they were pretty much bear-hugging Tech in the endzone to nothing, and just there, 3-4 yards out of bounds, and Jones just rips the dude's facemask hardcore, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF, and nothing, he just pats him on the back.
Jeez.

Arkansas beat ECU in overtime 20-17 and UConn defeated South Carolina 20-7 earlier in the day if anyone cares.

I'm amazed that the Fiesta Bowl is getting no-sold like this.
It's been a pretty solid game so far. And this is coming from someone who thinks that TCU and Boise State would get romped by Florida, Texas or Alabama.

I started watching in the fourth quarter. But from what I've seen, it's been a damn good game. That fake punt was great by Boise State. And it looks like they just won.

Boise State wraps up a win and an undeserving right to piss and moan that they should have played in the National Championship Game.

That's more than I can say of Texas if they end up winning. They should have at least had an opportunity to make that game. But they play in a crappy system, and well deserve the right to bitch about it. Division 1 college football is the only sport I know of where you can go perfect and not win a championship.

That's one stat that you can point to, but wins over Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Nebraska look a whole lot more impressive than wins over UC Davis, Tulsa and Louisiana Tech.

The Boise State coach is such a (part of the female anatomy). You have the stage, why not complain about the unfair system?

The last one hurts as I'm an alumni from that school, but the Big 12 wasn't much to write home about this year.

The last one hurts as I'm an alumni from that school, but the Big 12 wasn't much to write home about this year. That's always the biggest knock on SEC and Big XII schools; that they don't schedule tough enough out-of-conference opponents. While that is true, they also have to deal with arguably the toughest in-conference schedules in all of college football. And to be quite honest, Boise State didn't set themselves up against powerhouses. Aside from the then-16th ranked Oregon Ducks, the Broncos played Miami (OH), Fresno State and Bowling Green. They weren't exactly doing their part to try to strengthen their own schedule. I would have been understanding of an argument from TCU's standpoint, though. The Mountain West is probably the sixth best conference in college football, behind the Big XII, SEC, Pac-10, Big Ten and ACC. They beat BYU and Utah, when both teams were in the top 25. Also, they at least made an effort to beef up their out-of-conference schedule, playing Virginia, Clemson and the up-and-coming Southern Methodist.

These are the two teams people wanted to see get a shot at Florida or Georgia Tech or Texas. When the spineless BCS pairs them against one another and it takes away the chance for another Utah/Alabama or Boise/Oklahoma, it's essentially two lesser known teams playing in a big name bowl.

Jimmy Clausen played his final season at Notre Dame through torn toe ligaments and will have surgery to repair them on Tuesday. He'll miss the next 2-3 months and February's Scouting Combine.

Georgia SS Reshad Jones will forgo his senior season and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
The Orlando Sentinel reports that Florida junior tight end Aaron Hernandez is expected to declare for the NFL Draft.
Arizona State coach Dennis Erickson has hired Noel Mazzone to run the Sun Devil offense.
Texas wide receiver Brandon Collins has been kicked off the team following a recent arrest. Collins had missed the 2009 season due to an academic issue.

Tonight's the night! The BCS Bowl no one (besides me) wanted to see!
GO HAWKS!
Love the Hawks tonight. Give the Big Ten a winning bowl record and shut some people up.
A win would give the top 4 teams in the conference all season bowl victories, with the 5th team losing in overtime. No one got blown out, no one got embarassed.
Reports of the conference's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
