Red Sox acquired C Josue Peley from the Pirates for OF Jonathan Van Every.
Peley, 22, was hitting a paltry .179/.222/.239 with no homers and six RBI in 67 at-bats for the Pirates' Single-A West Virginia affiliate. He's not much of a prospect and is a longshot to reach the majors.

The Red Sox have faith that Josh Reddick is ready to make a permanent move to the majors as the team's fifth outfielder. 2. The Red Sox have absolutely no faith in Josh Reddick, considering they traded for Jonathan Van Every and played him ahead of Reddick, and they are now selling Van Every for spare parts.

I usually hate the special uniform promotions, but I have to say the Yankees in white hats isn't awful. I dont like the stars and stripes design but if it were the traditonal navy blue it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

My hopes got up for once, but over the last week or so the old Rangers that I know and love have reared their ugly head.
It's even worse knowing that with our stupid ownership/sale situation, unless it gets resolved quick, we can't do a damn thing at trade deadline time.
We want Roy Oswalt, but can't have him.
We want a better/veteran catching option, can't get anyone worthwhile.
We could even use an extra outfielder so Vlad doesn't have to go out there when there's an injury.
But we can't get any of that. Unless it's just cheap garbage someones throwing to the side.

Rex Ryan was in the Yankees' booth for a minute. Hope he realizes that a good chunk of Jets fans are Mets fans.

after that statement was said....everybody on this forum has seen more start's then Colvin has...
during first pitch of todays cub's game "Kind of surprised Tyler Colvin's not in the lineup today" - Bob Brenly
accoridng to Paul Sullivan Nady has said his arm is only at about 87%
and Grabow has been put on the DL!!!!! HOORAY!!!! *dances*

Not looking good for the Phillies right now, down 6-0 in Atlanta. Manuel was ejected earlier.

A-Rod & Cano go back-to-back, with A-Rod hitting a Grand Slam! He's at 590 homers, let the countdown for 600 begin! ;D

HOORAY!!!! *dances* Grabow to the DL was the right move. Russell...gosh, he has done so well so many times, but he comes in today and gives up that bomb to Jones...son of a bitch...The kid might actually need to be converted into a starter at Iowa for a while so he can work on his stuff a little bit. He's given up a lot of homers and very little else bad. Nady being "only" 87% is actually just about on target for being 100% mid-June, which is what we expected. And I understand the frustration over Colvin. It's just, the only person he can actually play for right now is Byrd against some righties. Judd Sirrot had interviewed Nady over the homestand, and the interview aired before the game yesterday. He said he feels like he could maybe air it out in a game situation, just to see how well it goes. The Cubs have three starting outfielders and a solid platoon guy. Colvin could just as easily have been left at Triple A after camp this year and avoided controversy, as a team's fifth outfielder is usually more of the Reed Johnson/Sam Fuld/So Taguchi/Xavier Paul type. And to back up my stat about Aramis just standing around holding his cock instead of hitting the baseball, let me once again dig into WAR. That's the total number of Wins Above or below a Replacement-caliber player that a certain player is worth. From 2004 through 2008, Aramis's annual WAR were 4.8, 4.1, 4.5, 5.3 and 4.7. In 2009, in only 82 games, his WAR was 2.6. Now, a replacement-level player at 3B is essentially a backup/fill-in type, as opposed to a truly marginal major leaguer. In 2009, Greg Dobbs had a +0.1 WAR and Brendan Harris had a -0.1 WAR, so that's "replacement-level," essentially. So far in 2010, Aramis Ramirez already has a WAR of -1.1 through 42 games played and 51 team games. So Ramirez, despite his injuries, has comfortably been worth about 4.5 wins above a replacement-level player, while this year has already cost the Cubs 1 win compared to even Chad Tracy (+0.1 WAR). He's on pace to be worth a 7- or 8-win swing for a full season. Compare this to the Cubs' outfield of Kosuke Fukudome (+0.6 WAR), Marlon Byrd (+2.0), and Alfonso Soriano (+1.7). Even disappointing Derrek Lee has a +0.4 WAR. Marshall has had a pair of rough outings now. And now Cashner enters into, well, the role they eventually expect of him, except not in his MLB debut. Let's stop this...

Top of the 9th, 2 outs, Yankees up 11-1 and Chan Ho Park is on the mound. The Indians still have a chance then

The Yankees win 3 out of Indians. And we all know the one big question everyone wants to know...
How does that effect LeBron?
The Yankees have an excellent record against the other cities in the LeBron sweepstakes. They haven't had a chance to play the Marlins and beat them up and they won't this season. They are .500 against the Angels, but does anyone take the Clippers seriously.
So the Yankees have dominated against those other cities.

Pirates break a losing streak. Hooray Cubs series.
Ross Ohlendorf had a very strong outing that makes me believe he's finally shaken off the post-injury rust.

I have to ask: why does Ronny Cedeno swing at the first pitch against a kid making his MLB debut when he arrived at the stadium 2 hours before first pitch have a spot on a major league roster? This is so frustrating. I'm dead serious in my belief that if they had anything from third base this year, they'd be .500 instead of 4 games under, just because of the 2-game swing he himself provides, plus the actual lineup value of him to those around him.

www.latimes.com/news/la-adenhartcase31-m,0,6630493.story?track=rss The man accused of killing Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart wants his trial moved from Orange County, citing that he won't get a fair trial. Right, because you stand a chance of getting off for driving with a BAC of .19, T-boning another vehicle, and killing 3 people whil injuring the fourth passenger severely. That trial could be held on Jupiter and it will have the same result.

Every citizen is provided the right to a fair trail and there is no way that he gets it there.
