Ken Griffey Jr. has retired from baseball. If his career wasn't plagued by injuries, he would pretty much have every HR record out there. Thanks for everything Junior.

Anything is better than letting him walk at the end of the year if they aren't interested in resigning him. Getting a couple of drafts picks who may or may not ever produce years down the line or getting whatever the Angels have to offer and not having Lee's contract on the books. Sounds alright to me. Then hopefully they can get rid of every other overpaid, underproducing bum on this team. A move on Lee would be, more or less, the white flag on 2010. The League just seems too tough and too even and too unpredictable. The Cubs could be able to catch offensive fire in June, but it's starting to look like the overall makeup of the team might not allow it. Also, attendance is down by about 1,300 paid per game, and there are plenty of seats available. With falling revenue and a disappointing team, Jim Hendry will need to make a decision at some point in the next couple weeks. Now, Lee has been a big-time victim of bad luck so far this year, as well as a lack of protection with Ramirez behind him. I've broken the numbers down in previous pages. But his skills are also deteriorating with age, as is expected. The Cubs still owe him $8.5 million in salary this year. In terms of the Angels, there's nobody on their 40-man who's all that interesting. Their Low A affiliate, the Cedar Rapids Kernals, have quite a few promising young kids. SP Fabio Martinez is one of them. Another is CF Mike Trout. Generally, the Angels' best prospects are in the low minors and wouldn't be expected until 2012-2014. That would fit well into a carefully nurtured Cubs' rebuilding. -------------- If the Cubs decide to white flag, selling Lee off would be the best way to start. It would be an opportunity for Jim Hendry to set the market. Considering he would also be shopping Ted Lilly, Kosuke Fukudome, and a number of other players, getting Lee to waive his no-trade would be a big thing for other GMs looking to deal with Chicago. Yeah, I think getting Lee to agree to be traded would go along way in starting to rebuild, which is what I think they need to just do at this point. This team three years ago couldn't do anything in the post season. Two years ago, and a year older they couldn't do anything again. Another year goes by and they have a frustrating season, with another currently going on. I like the idea of getting Trout, the last time the Angels had a guy named after a fish, he was a productive major leaguer.

Man, the Orioles suck.
Also, sad to hear about Griffey. Guy's had an incredible career, even with as many injuries as he's had.

It'll look something close to this: Braves Win the division thanks to the Rotation outlasting Halladay and a bunch of losers Phillies 4.5 games back Marlins 9.5 games back Mets 12 game back Nationals 22 games back

Not as bad as the Indians. ;D Touche. ;D Are the two teams going to play each other anytime soon. Battle of the Losers! Also switching over from YES and the Yanks' slaughtering of the O's to MLB Network and potential history.

David Ortiz is still pretty awesome.
The Tigers offense adds two runs in the 8th. Galaragga has to wait a while. I bet he loses it.
