Sony wasn't trying to beat Nintendo today. They were trying to beat Microsoft, and they not only beat Microsoft, they BROKE Microsoft today. Most likely better price for the Move, WAY more games for Move this year than Kinect, and exclusive limited editions for Medal of Honor and Dead Space 2, both of which give you a full additional game, as well as exclusive content for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and then the biggest bomb, PORTAL 2 ON THE PS3! Not only that, kevin butler mocking that stupid cirque du solie thing they did. That too.

Was it wrong that I marked out that MoH on the PS3 is getting Frontline in HD? That's pretty damn awesome. Probably my favorite in the series. Not to mention that the new one does look pretty swank. Sony started out iffy, I didn't know where it was going to go...then "Mr. Awesome" otherwise known as Kevin Butler came out, pretty much saved it, then it was mostly uphill from there. Not as great as Nintendo's was, but still pretty great. Lots of stuff I want to play from Sony. And I had a glimmer of hope all conference that we were going to get the exclusive first look at Uncharted 3

And that pretty much seals the deal that 3DS is must have for me. Star Fox, Pilotwings, MGS 3D all looked good, but nothing has me more excited coming out of E3 then this news

Only saw the second half of Sony's conference but it seemed pretty solid. Funny that you guys are raving about Nintendo's showing but the other forum I go to are slaughtering them.

To be honest, I thought Sony's showing was the most boring thing I have seen since Great Khali vs. Giant Silva. There weren't really any games I was interested in (Portal 2, I guess, but if I get that I will get it for the PC), there was too much focus on Move for my taste, Jack Tretton talked too much, the new PSP ad campaign is lame and... well, generally I found the whole conference rather boring. It could have used the giant enemy crabs or something, at least those were entertaining.
I didn't see Microsoft's conference, but from what I've heard that wasn't any better. I'm sick of motion controls already and don't care for Move or Kinect, and now that everyone seems to be focusing on their motion control systems I'm starting to feel my interest in gaming is about to go on a rather sharp decline (especially since none of the new games that use the regular controls impressed me either). Oh well, at least Nintendo showed off the 3DS, that looks really nice so maybe I won't give up all hope just yet.

I read about the problems with the game mehanics, but what did the new Wii Zelda game look like?

I read about the problems with the game mehanics, but what did the new Wii Zelda game look like? It looks a bit more colorful than Twilight Princess, but it's not overly cartoony like The Wind Waker. Adult Link BTW, not Kid Cartoon Link is being used. Seems to be a bit more accessible to the casual player, which I guess is a good thing, but enough for the hardcore Zelda guy to not be turned off by it.

I actually loved the way Wind Waker ended up looking. I have a T-Shirt based on that link now. It's one of the most beautiful games I've ever played.

Not sure what forum you visit, but everywhere I've been that's remotely objective has nothing put praise for Nintendo's showing. 3DS is a must have for me.

It was mostly to do with the motion controls not working properly and more shovelware (Mario Sports?). I always like new consoles so will definitely check out the 3DS. I want to see it running in front of me though before I decide whether it's for me or not.

Nintendo kicked ass out there. That 3DS is a must-buy. Hell, 3/4 of what they showed is a must-buy, if not all of it. Microsoft sucked beyond words. Sony did pretty well, especially in the kicking of Microsoft's ass. Microsoft might as well have not bothered showing up at all.

Microsoft jobbed to Sony this year. Finally, Microsoft had their bad conference. But man, Nintendo killed it. The Wii looked solid with and it was finally nice to see how Zelda looked. Reminds me of A Link to the Past. Definitely excited. Donkey Kong Country Returns and the motherload: The Nintendo 3DS! I want a 3DS so badly. Paper Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Zelda OoT, Resident Evil, Golden Sun.

I didn't see Microsoft's presentation, but I read about it. Good Lord, that sounded like the dumbest thing ever.

Yeah, Microsoft crapped the bed this year. I knew Natal/Kinect had the potential to be grossly underwhelming, but that was a mess.
Sony had a very strong showing. They should be proud.
Nintendo killed it, though. Just blew it out of the water.
