met william/steve regal. really friendly and open to chatting. it was at his book signing but he'd sign whatever people brought him even though it was against the store's rules. was really friendly to little kids. It's amazing how tall he is!
also met bret hart at a signing. he was polite if a bit cold, but you cant really blame anyone at a signing for just being civil. he did pose for photos when he didnt have to so thats something. i do remember he looked pretty pissed when poeple started chanting 'one more match' buit again, it cant be nice to know you were forced into retirement. he did sign my pink wrap around glasses that ive had for years though, so i was happy.

I met Chris Jericho at a Fozzy autograph signing last year, and he signed my copy of WrestleMania XX DVD. I even met one of his band mates, even though I had never listened to any of their songs at that point.

I'll post all mine later. I have a bunch.
Lance Cade works out at my gym. I've been meaning to say hi, but he's always working out, or listening to his iPod. I don't think people really recognize him, but he does talk to some of the Gold's Gym staff membes. He seems really nice and likeable.
Haven't seen him there in several weeks, though. Must be on the road a lot more now.

I forgot about two encounters:
I used to live like a block away from the same elementry school that Sandman's son Tyler went to. I was walking out of the Wawa thats right next to the school, and I saw Sandman parked in the car waiting for his son. I walked up and said "Hey Sandman what's up?" He was really cool about it, and told me he was waiting for his son.
Also around 2001 when me and my pal were hitting the strip clubs on regular occasion, Headbanger Thrasher ended up being a bouncer at Club Wizzards for like a month. We asked him if he could hook us up with some Headbanger T-shirts. He was kind of a jackass to us, just talking in a really cocky way. Probably why I didn't care to remember meeting him.
But the Sandman one slipped my mind, and he was really cool.

Maria - got an autograph.
Victoria - see above.

All were very awesome experiences.

Thoughts from the "Legends of Wrestling" booth at the recent Big Apple Con
Bruno Sammartino - His reputation paints him as a crusty, vindictive jerk. His reputation couldn't be more inaccurate. Total gentleman, and looked surprisingly good for his age (a few people outside the show who heard he was going to be there said, "Jesus, he's still alive?"). When his assistant took a picture of us, the flash went off as he was lowering the camera. Bruno tore up the Polaroid and told him to take another. That's the kind of guy he is, a champion in and out of the ring.
Iron Shiek - Now that I have a picture with him and one with manager Bobby Heenan from a few years ago, I can safely say that I have picture with two of wrestling's greatest bad guys. Shiek is one of those guys who acts the same way outside of the ring as he did inside. I don't mean in terms of personality, he's totally nice. I mean he's just as animated, all shouting and making flamboyant gestures and stuff. I paid his assistant $20 for a Polaroid, he took it, and then asked me to pay him. I told him I already paid him, but he didn't believe me. Shiek himself spoke up and told the assistant that I had paid him. That one of the biggest heels in wrestling history saved me from being screwed out of $20 is a story that I'll be telling for a long time
Nikolai Volkoff - It was a sad sight to see him at the convention because he had to sit between Shiek who had a big crowd and Bruno who also had a big crowd. Poor Nikolai sat at the head of the big gap in the middle. I was going to meet him anyway, but when I came over I took special care to call him a legend and try to make him feel better.
Afa the Wild Samoan - Great guy. I had a major "Oops" moment when I saw the woman sitting next to him and thought she was a woman billed to be at the convention. I said to her, "And you are... Nicole Bass, right?" Turns out she was just his assistant. Oops. The real Nicole never did show up.

I'll give you a hint on who I met.
He has long side burns.
He has his hair slicked back.
And he's comin to your town in a pink cadelliac.
I met the Honkey Tonk Man at a local indy show. He complimented me on my sideburns that I had at the time.

Ive met a few:
Cena: at a Red Sox game I'm not a big fan of his in ring stuff, but the man was all class. He took time to talk to anyone that approached him and generally seemed to enjoy being around the fans.
Luger: This was late 93. He was also very cool. I told him about how my dad was a huge fan, but couldnt be there to see him, so he signed another autograph for my dad, and personalized a funny message about next time he should skip work and meet Lex.
Tim White: He talked to a few of us for about a half hour at a house show. Seemed pretty decent.

Here are my stories..
1. Met Mick Foley and Stone Cold at a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. When Bubba Sparxx performed outside, I was standing right next to them, and they were very cordial. Mick even signed my Mankind Tattoo.
2. I met numerous stars while working at ESPN Radio in LA. Stone Cold and RVD were there a lot.
3. I work at LAX, and Christopher Daniels came into my store and knocked over some glass gifts. I told him not to worry about it and he was very nice.
4. Also at LAX, I saw RVD getting ready to get on a flight, and I said to him "when are they going to push you?" He said "I dunno know, man. Soon I hope." This was pre-Money In The Bank by about two months.
Typically, when they aren't in their element, wrestlers seem to be happy that they're recognized (from what I've seen)
