He came out, said catchphrases for five minutes and then used less moves than Cena in a typical match. The greats don't need a lot of moves. They can hook a crowd with the bare basics. I couldn't tell you a single move Hogan did besides a Body Slam & the Atomic Leg Drop. Rock had a few more, but was a similar case. He didn't really have to do a lot of moves. The man got an elbow drop to be the most popular move in wrestling. If you can do that, you don't need a lot of moves. Spinebuster, Rock Bottom, People's Elbow. That's all he needed. I prefer wrestlers who have a varying moveset. Yeah it was fun to go to a house show and see the Peoples Elbow but when I watch it on TV I want it to be more exciting. Yes, my username is Curt Hawkins Fan and I said I want exciting.

Depends on what Rock we're talking about. Hollywood Rock? Absolute fan of. The babyface Rock that kept repeating the same catchphrases at every turn and made lame sexual innuendos? Not so much.

Still more charismatic than anyone on the roster right now. Imo, of course

One of my all time favorites, but I remember during the height of his run he had a LOT of haters on the internet. It was nuts.

I loved him. He was so over and so creative that he didn't need to be technical in the ring.

I disliked him a lot of the time while he was around but I appreciate him way more now.
He is in the top 5 if not top 3 greatest talents in the history of the business.

He was and still is one of my favorite wrestlers in WWE/F history. He could go out and read the paper in the middle of the ring and I would be entertained as hell. I hated him around November 1998 to April 1999 and then I started loving his character then. I was a huge Austin fan and I started to pull for The Rock at Backlash 1999. I was extremely happy at the next Backlash when he beat HHH for the WWF title, I was SO sick of HHH at that time. I absoutely loved his Hollywood Rock angle, he had an awesome match with Austin at WM 19 and cut some great and very funny promos. Nobody in WWE today comes close to his charisma, athleticism, and it factor.

Nah, I loved him.
He had great, exciting matches. He wasn't a technical wizard, but as with most main eventers his skills have been downplayed. He could bust out moves like the Mahistral Cradle, I have never seen Cena pull that one off.
Rock could also have an entertaining match with just about anyone, and even his matches with wrestlers lower on the card were exciting because he would sell well for them and also could potentially lose. He reamed people on the mic but would always make them look good in the ring.

I'm apathetic towards him. Yeah, he made me laugh a few times but he never moved me.

Loved him, even in 2002 when he was the generations Cena. He'll always be in my top 5.

The only time I disliked him is if he went up against Austin, and even then it was a good-kind-of-dislike.

I didn't like him at Wrestlemania XVIII, but I don't really think that I could help that. But other than that? Definitely liked him.

I liked him up until the Invasion, when he became a Cena-esque, pandering, nice guy babyface. After that it was all downhill until he turned heel and became awesome again.

I liked him when he first went heel, but once he became a walking catch phrase and every bozo on two legs was going around spouting his catch phrases I lost interest in him quickly.

I always thought he was overrated both in the ring and on the microphone. He seemed pushed down people's throats as much as Cena is now. The problem now is Cena doesn't have the Austin or HHH to work off like the Rock did.

When Rocky Maivia first debuted, I thought "This guy is awful, but he's going to become a huge star anyway, because WWF has already decided to make him one, so they'll keep giving him second chances and opportunities long after anyone else would have been given up on, until the fans finally shut up and love him the way they're supposed to."
It worked, and while he did improve tremendously, nothing ever really washed that taste out of my mouth.
I get a certain sense of deja vu from Randy Orton.
