i watching a cubs game seeing them lose 7 - 1...and a baseball game wound up breaking out...Aramis is on fire, and Geo just hit a home run in Sosa level spots to tie this game 7 - 7. also congrats to Nady for striking out on a passed ball tonight...which made everybody at the bar down the street do a faceplam almost in unison when it happened...on the plus side, the chicken wings at that bar are really damn good! Hey, hey, hey...that passed ball strike out started the rally with the first run scoring in the 5th inning. Seriously, though...wtf? This is the Cubs. They don't do this. Never. Ever. Dempster gutted through 5 with absolutely nothing tonight. Solid 2 innings (16 pitches) by Andrew Cashner, who is in line for his first big league win. Marshall with a dominant 8th as usual. Now it's time for some Rolaids Relief, man.

Holy crap. That's all I can say. Holy crap. 13 unanswered runs and one out away from a 7-run lead after being down 6-0 and 7-1. Aramis Ramirez: 3-5, 3 HR, 7 RBI. But you know, RBI are overrated

Did you know?
The tigers are no longer 1st in the AL Central Yeah, but I'm too lazy to change it.They will be soon enough... ...if they recover from the beating the Rangers gave them.
Or
if the White Sox begin a collapse

Mets about to lose and the Phillies may be on the verge of acquiring Oswalt...oh and Josh "I just hit my first homer" Thole may be getting sent down for Ollie...
It's already over.
Edit: LOL and as I said that, everyone is denying a trade with Philly is close and the Mets only tail by one ;D
Edit 2: You know...at this point I would consider trading Mejia and others for a guy like Haren no question. MUST MAKE A MOVE ASAP!

We actually got a decent game out of Dickey but the team collectively is slumping.

Day 6 of this 10-game roadtrip ends with a 3-2 loss to Arizona. Jon Niese gets to face Dan Haren tomorrow as he tries to prevent a sweep. I wish him luck. Angel Pagan & Josh Thole hit homers. The Mets should've gotten more offense but they blew a golden opportunity in the 1st inning. While SNY was experiencing technical difficulties, Ike Davis and Jason Bay both struck out with the bases loaded. RA Dickey started & pitched well once again. Line: 7 IP, 7 hits, 3 runs, 2 BB, 3 Ks, 4 swinging strikes, 10:8 GB:FB on 117 pitches(63-54). The key play in this game was Gerardo Parra's triple that eluded Carlos Beltran. On the play, Carlos initially broke in on the ball, but it ended up over his head as he was a step away from reaching it. I wouldn't put too much into it seeing as how he's only been back for a few days. And, trade stuff. Jayson Stark & Buster Olney are reporting that the Phillies are looking to deal for a starter & that they're willing to move Jayson Werth as well. I guess this makes sense that Amaro is gonna try to get a starter, but dealing Werth + prospects to get it done? If it's not Dan Haren coming back, this wouldn't be a smart move IMO.

Tonights Cubs game was like a flashback to 2007 or something. Crazyness.

Aramis is up to a .219 average i believe now....hes a few ab's away from reaching closer to having a better average to that hitting machine known as Juan Pierre who is hitting .258....
i like david kaplan's reaction...."aramis has been on fire since the break...but then again, Neifi Perez had a few 6 rbi games in a row too, well see if he can keep this up?

Send over a bottle of bubbly with a bucket of ice and a card, have it say: "Tough break. Get drunk on me, use the bucket to ice down your marbles. Yours, Z."

Thole stays up after all as Justin Turner gets set down for Ollie.
Only problem is we still have three catchers and nobody to fill in for David at third should he get hurt or need a breather.

Well, that didn't take long. Provided, Hunter is a good pitcher, the Tigers' offense has been atrocious the last few games. Galarraga had a pretty solid game back, allowing 4 runs in 7 1/3 innings. But it's never good when you only get four hits in a game. Seven losses in a row, yet somehow, they've only fallen a few games back. Here's hoping Cleveland and Seattle win. You're half-right, the Indians have been doing the dirty work. But, with John Danks pitching a two-hitter, that second one didn't happen. Can you say 3 1/2 ahead? Word on the ol' soundbox says the Brewers told the White Sox they could have Prince Fielder for Daniel Hudson & (somebody like) Dayan Viciedo. (The Brewers want starting pitching, as they believe they're still in the race. They just want to shed some payroll.)

THE INDIANS STILL WILL NEVER LOSE AGAIN
This always seems to happen when they're dead and buried and out of the playoff picture. They start playing like a world-class team.

Doumit oles a relay throw home because he heard the footsteps of the runner. You're wearing 20lbs of equipment. He ISN'T Pete Rose. Catch the darn ball.

There's apparently a team meeting going on in the Mets clubhouse. No reporters allowed.
Also, the Mets are apparently content with 3 catchers for the rest of the year. Thole is Dickey's personal catcher, Blanco is Johan's catcher and Rod catches Pelf and whoever the f*** else...yes, I'm serious.

Somehow, the Diamondbacks didn't score against Oliver Perez with the bases loaded.

Kap sometimes misses completely obvious things and sounds like his head's been in a dark, moist place (like underground after it rains), despite offering solid analysis at other times. Here is how Kap presented this info: Aramis pre-break: .207/.268/.380; 10 HR, 32 RBI, 20 BB, 53 K Aramis post-break: .379/.406/1.000; 5 HR, 15 RBI, 2 BB, 5 K While it is true that Aramis is on fire right now, it is foolish to say this is out of nowhere. A more accurate representation of the facts recognizes his trip to the DL in June as a before and after split: Aramis pre-DL: 47 G/44 GS, 198 PA, .168/.232/.285; 5 HR, 22 RBI, 16 BB, 45 KAramis post-DL, pre-break: .328/.381/.672; 5 HR, 10 RBI, 4 BB, 8 K Aramis post-break: .379/.406/1.000; 5 HR, 15 RBI, 2 BB, 5 K Aramis post-DL cumulative: 22 GS, 95 PA, .345 (30 H/87 AB) / .389 (37/95) / .782 (68 TB/87 AB); 10 HR, 25 RBI, 6 BB, 13 KTweak the lineup one last little bit, and Lou has the kind of team they hoped for from the beginning but couldn't get to. Swap Castro and Colvin. Castro is more patient and has better plate+batter's boxes coverage. He can hit anything. Colvin, on the other hand, is more strikeout prone. The more refined hitter (the 20 year old hitting a hair under .300) should hit leadoff. And I just want to state for the record my continuing dislike of Aaron Miles, just for the record.
