Stel Cage Challenge (1993) wasnt that bad but nothing in comparison to No Mercy on N64 or the recent Smackdown! games. The roster is as follows:
Ric Flair Hulk Hogan Shawn Micheals Irwin R. Schiester Undertaker Papa Shango Bret Hart Randy Savage Ted Dibiase Tatanka
Where as Raw (1994) had really annoying music all the way through and had this roster:
Shawn Micheals Bret Hart Undertaker Bam Bam Bigelow Lex luger Diesel Razor Ramon Crush Yokozuna Randy Savage
altrhough it had 'Survivor Series' mode which is basically when you pic 4 men on a team to go angaisnt theCPU team which no games have had since.
'Pro Wrestling' on the other had has no branding. and has fictional tag teams such as 'orient Express' and 'Masked Madmen' and worked like a beat em up in a ring.
vote away!!!

My vote went to other because of this. I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be Sting and Michael PS Hayes. There was apparently a version for the original Game Boy titled "The Main Event." I've never seen or played it, but I did suffer through the NES version a number of times.

I haven't really play any 8-bit wrestling games. The worst one from around that time is super wrestlemania but that's classed as 16-bit as it was on the Megadrive and SNES. It can be decent if you put in enough time to learn to play properly, but if you're not in right mood, you'll likely get your ass kicked throughout the match and end up throwing the game at the wall. The roster's pretty decent, around 10 wrestlers, including Hogan, Savage, Warrior, HBK, IRS, Papa Shango and a few others. My favourite 16-bit wrestling game though is Wrestle War. It's full of unknown wrestlers, although some look like real wrestlers like Hogan and Road Warrior Hawk. You can only play as one guy and you work your way to the top of the league winning and defending titles. The wrestling's actually pretty. Just basic button mashing but pretty fun.

I'll throw this in there for good measure. The Micro-League WWF game for Commodore. I don't know if this is how matches went down but it doesn't look like fun

No mercy is the greatest wrestling game ever made. seriously the controls were amazing, the roster is great. the match options, career mode, survivor mode, CAW all great. one problem is the memory glitch!
cart, i dont think No mercy is what yourr thinking of, maybe its WWF Wrestlemania 2000, same developers as No Mercy

I'll take Tag Team Wrestling for the NES. Even though one of the teams was named the Strong Bads, the game is freakin' uncontrollable.

Other - WWF Wrestlemania (NES) Only redeeming part was the theme songs (they even had stand back! In 8-bit midi format even!)
