Yep. Out of all the systems I've ever played, the best is the Super Nintendo's. It's the perfect size, has just the right amount of buttons, and I'd take the super nintendo's dpad over any stupid unresponsive easily-f***s up analog stick any day of the week.
What's the difference between playing Megaman X on the playstation and the SNES? The difference is that the control on the SNES is a million times better.
I predict this thread will get 3 replies at most, one of them being the "cool story bro" pic.

Obviously the SNES controller is the best. I mean, pretty much every controller SINCE that one had the same basic layout.
AND in Japan, they released a GameCube controller for use with the Game Boy Player that was shaped like the SNES controller.

I'll second, for the reason that the SNES controllers don't hurt as much as other controllers when they're bounced off your head by a sore loser. I got cracked in the noggin' with a PS2 controller about three days ago and Boy Jesus, I am still feelin' it.

I think the Genesis 6 button is a bit better, especially for fighters. But then again, it is the system I grew up on.

I remember going to the local Toys R Us back when the SNES first came out and was amazed at all the buttons on the controller. As a kid, I thought there was no way anyone could play a game with all those buttons.

Saturn Pad V2 was pretty much the perfect controller for 2D gaming. I wish I could have got the Playstation 2-compatible replica of it for use on my controller adapter...

I preferred the Sega Genesis and the Playstation controller more, personally. But the SNES was tons better than the N64.

I kid . I'm actually going to agree with you, even though I mostly grew up with a Genesis, there's just something about the SNES controller that makes it feel so... natural. AND in Japan, they released a GameCube controller for use with the Game Boy Player that was shaped like the SNES controller. {Spoiler} That one (top)?

No arguments from me. I've never found a better controller for 2D fighters, especially SF2.

It's damn good but I like the PS2 controller better. Same basic layout with 2 more shoulder buttons and 2 analog sticks. The Genesis 6 button controller was also great for it's time.

I'm frankly shocked nobody mentioned this yet: It was awesome too, especially for games like GoldenEye 007 and Mario 64. Nintendo have always had the knack of making excellent, innovative controllers. Though I am biased, being a complete Nintendo mark.

No arguments from me. I've never found a better controller for 2D fighters, especially SF2. Good lord man, NO. Saturn Pad V2 was SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for fighters. I was 50 million times better at X-Men vs. Street Fighter on the Saturn than I was in the arcade because of the V2 Saturn Pad.

I'm frankly shocked nobody mentioned this yet: It's decent, but playing Mario Party with it is hell on your palm.

I never got along with it. It was good, don't get me wrong, but I've never liked that kind of d-pad. Same goes for the Mega Drive/Genesis, X-Box/360, et al. The basic cross worked best for me.

It's damn good but I like the PS2/3 controller better. Same basic layout with 2 more shoulder buttons and 2 analog sticks. Same here.

Well to show you how good the SNES controller was when Sony was coming up with the PS1 controller they gave up and just copied the SNES controller except they added extra shoulder buttons changed the letters to symbols and added the handles.
Sega Genesis was OK but it needed should buttons and the 3 by 3 was too wide.
