Spike TV's not going to drop Impact - its one of their highest rated shows isn't it? I mean a 1.1 is a respectable number for a show these days, especially with the sheer number of cable channels out there. If you're grabbing 1.1 - you're making some bunsen burner for your sponsors. Yea, people dont realize that WWE is an exception, not a rule. Doing mid 3's every week, even though its almost halved from what they use to do, STILL makes them one of the highest rated shows on cable every week. When compared to WWEs ratings, yes, TNAs is far inferior. But a lot of cable channels would kill to have a show that airs original content every week and pulls in a 1.0 doing it. Especially a network who doesnt do much beyond UFC except show CSI reruns. You know - on that note, I'd like to see a long term average of a hit TV show vs. a wrestling show. A show like Burn Notice or South Park may do outrageous numbers when the new episodes premier, but I'd bet they drop off the radar for re-runs. A wrestling show won't do stellar numbers, but will maintain a strong rating over the full year. I'd wager that the average of each show's yearly ratings are similar, if not better for the wrestling show.

From what I saw on the Raw ratings thread, Impact's ratings were stable until the final quarter hour when Impact dropped 2 tenths of a point down to 0.7. Brooke's over-acting really killed it... or people were turned off by the blood bath.

The Sting/RVD/Hogan segment seemed to draw the best numbers (9:45-10:15). What else was on during that time?

While a lot of people throw crap at one another for making fun of TNA for getting such low numbers... I think we all need to remind ourselves of something: TNA has had a real chip on their shoulder.
I run my own business and I have competitors who are "the 800 pound gorilla" in the marketplace. I understand what it's like to be the underdog. There's a sort of grace and humility you need to bring to the work if you're going to compete so aggressively as TNA is.
For example... What exactly was the point of all the harsh language of 'WE'RE GOING TO WAR! THIS IS WAR! THIS IS IT! TOTAL DOMINATION ON MONDAY NIGHTS! WE'RE THE BEST!' They aren't a respectful alternative and believe it or not, that plays a role in whether I care to try out their product.
I also remember way back when Kurt Angle first signed with TNA. He could've been a really nice guy about his former employer that made him millions. Nope. Trashed McMahon and said TNA's investors have more money than Vince would ever know what to do with. And that TNA will be crushing WWE in less than a year. How far we've come, eh?
TNA is the bully company on Monday nights. So when they get 1.0, you better believe I'm going to laugh. Because they asked for this kind of scrutiny with their bad attitude and now they're going to get it.
Just needed to get that out.

They held their own against Raw during Mania season with only the main event being advertised, for a company that put on PPV qualty shows against a taped and time shifted Raw and was destroyed just a year or two ago, I would call this a success.
I mean it's not what they would publicly admit to hoping for but, it's far from the failure that a lot of you seem to be calling it.

The whole 'going to war' and trashing your former employer to put over your new one is simply a ratings ploy to get attention. If TNA is in their right mind, they are thinking that Monday has always been wrestling night, and that they have a better chance. However the hotshotted booking and seemingly endless angles at an unsustainable rate will end up backfiring. I really see a repeat of what they tried to do with WCW in 2000, which of course did not work. In a good story, you have to have some dull parts to make the big climax seem important. You can not make a story climax the whole time because eventually you paint yourself into a corner.

Impact had a .98 with 1,361,000 viewers according to PWInsider. How many did it have Thursday? From the last Impact Rating thread. Net loss - 150,000.

I know it's still early to say that TNA is in trouble, but if the ratings stay low for a while, they'll need a good plan when Monday Night Football is back on the air.

Dirt pathetic. The show was actually really good, with the exception of the main event. I think it deserved a way bigger rating, but i'm afraid they were dumbasses and chose to compete with the WWE before really establishing themselves.

9:00-9:15 RAW 3.45 Impact 0.99 9:15-9:30 RAW 3.15 Impact 0.98 9:30-9:45 RAW 3.27 Impact 1.00 9:45-10:00 RAW 3.15 Impact 1.07
HOUR ONE RAW 3.26 Impact 1.01

HOUR TWO RAW 3.46 Impact 0.95
OVERALL RAW 3.36 Impact 0.98
Judging by these quarter hours. TNA did not steal any of Raw audiences or hurt Raw at all really. Raw audiences hurt Raw by changing the channel to something else?

That was poor planning, IMO.

There is the overrun.
Raw 3.98 Impact 1.01
Most of the Flair/AJ vs Hogan/Abyss was there.
