Michaels vs Hart at WM12. That match was just boring. Agreed. I found it very dull and boring. It's great that Shawn won but that was just a dull as dishwater kind of match.

Bret/Owen vs. the Steiners
I found it dreadfully dull and I'm a huge Bret mark.

Undertaker/Orton from WM23. The match was 80% punches and one cool spot.

I'm going to join the Bret-HBK Mania 12 Iron Man match Brigade. I remember being absolutely amazed and on the edge of my seat the entire time when I watch it live back then, but I have not been able to watch it the whole way through since then without some serious fast forwarding. You make a good point here, in that a lot depends on when you see a match. Such as the Iron Man Match, when it was live you did not know who would win, (yes, I thought Shawn would win, but you never know) so much of what makes it great at the time is the unpredictability. Like you said, I was on the edge of my seat especially at the end as time was running out. At the time I thought maybe they would hold up the title or something if neither won. Of course it depends how you define what is overrated. I think part of every match is the unpredictability of who is going to win, which is much of what the emotion between the Shawn/Taker Wrestlemania matches with the streak on the line. If we're just talking about about moves and stuff, then I can understand including WM 12 Main Event, but I think the emotion of watching a match live has to be figured in when rating classic matches.

So many hate on Bret-Shawn that I dont see why its overrated. Maybe to the WWF, but certainly the IWC hate on it enough that its underrated if anything. It wasnt terrible at all.
There was sound psychology throughout.

Respectfully disagree. I too think the 25 match was overrated, it had no build and no reason behind it. It was just a bunch of moves. The second one had build, storyline and emotion behind it and kept me rapt. Cool. From a strict storyline perspective, 26 was better. They built it perfectly, that sublime Placebo video helped. That Placebo video and the one with Johnny Cash illustrated exactly what I mean when I say nobody produces video packages like WWE. They could make a Khali vs Giant Gonzales match seem like an awesome prospect.

OK, now that we've established that the #1 answer is Bret/HBK, can we get some new ones? I think it's a great question, but getting bogged down in the same answer being repeated.
I was hugely disappointed by the Eddie Guerrero/Brock Lesnar match. Yes, the ending was probably super-emotional at the time, but it's a LONG match consisting of Brock just pounding Eddie and locking him in long submissions.

HBK/Y2J WM19. It was bland for a Raw match. Funky Billy Kim included it on a best of DVD for me once and I watched it twice and found it to be worse e/time I watched it. Bloody boring.

The Flair- Kerry Von Erich title switch from Dallas in 1984 has gotten a lot of love in the past for some reason but after watching the match I couldn't really say why. It's maybe 15 minutes of action ending on a random back slide. I'll be polite and just say that the backslide was not random. It fit into the parameters of the story they told. It was full of action that matched the real emotion going on. That is great booking and makes a great match. almost 50,000 people for a wccw show. Dude wrestlemania wouldn't draw more than that for another 3 years

Now I do think its a great match, I guess its just because I've seen it SOOOO many times. Hell I saw it on PPV live when it happened. Its more about how people talk about it then the match itself, thats how something becomes overrated to begin with. Its great match, one of the best in WWF/E history, but IMO its overrated, ::puts on flame shield::

Soooo a match that isn't rated too high is making it on this list. Michaels Hart Iron Man has always been considered "ehhh" by fans.
The most overrated match of all time WM 13. I quit match!

Hart / Michaels W12 is ranked very high on alot of "greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time" lists. Look 'em up.

I agree with practically every match mentioned here.
Another one is the 2004 Rumble which was loved simply because Benoit won.

Austin vs Rock at Mania 17. Alright it's entertaining, but it doesn't deserve to be in any best match lists. It's basically a glorified brawl with a stupid ending to boot. Their WM 19 match was far superior IMO.

Their WM 19 match was far superior IMO. Well, I liked both of them, though I liked their match at WM17 slightly better, mostly because it was kind hard to watch their WM19 match because of Austin's neck problems. I might get flamed for this, but in a sense, Steamboat vs Savage at WM3 is sort of overrated. I won't deny that it was a great match, but a lot of people swear that it was the number one greatest match ever. But like I said, it's still a great match after all these years, but I think it gets too much credit.
