Did they promise the surprise for tonight? I honestly can't remember if it was supposed to be tonight or just one in general.

I understand negotiations can be a long process, but really, just get him signed asap or move on with someone else at this point.

Heyman is stalling because he wants SpikeTV to give him Hulk Hogan, that coveted Monday Night Wrestling audience, RVD, Mr. Anderson, Brock Lesnar to break off his UFC contract and come to TNA. That will REALLY help put TNA over the top Stallone style.

Obviously they have forgotten what happened in 2004 when they made a big fuss about Hogan being signed before he was actually...um...signed.

You'd think Dixie and Jeff would have learned by now not to hint at surprise signings that aren't signed yet.

As many fun possibilities as the idea of Heyman in TNA offers, I am not sold on this one. The part that is disappointing is TNA was already on their way up just 8 months ago. They had established their own identity and brand, they had some of the hottest new stars in wrestling, and they had a small but devoted fanbase and were positioned to grow. They were drawing respectable ratings-not gangbusters, but still good for prime time. Let me say for the record, when TNA announced they were bringing Hogan in, I tried to stay optimistic. But I think I am safe in saying that in less than a year, Hogan has wiped out all the gains TNA struggled for the last few years to build. They have had to fire a bunch of Knockouts, who were drawing some of the strongest ratings on their shows. They made an abortive attempt to move to monday nights and came away humiliated for it. All the old farts like Nash and the Dudleyz looked to be on their way out, and now they are back center stage again. Their ratings have slid as their fanbase has bolted. And now they are looking to another "savior?" Why not forget being saved and go back to what was working!

I'd love to hear them explain this to Bob Carter.
"Hey Bob, remember how that company you have poured all that money into was finally starting to make a profit?
Well, we decided to spend a stack of money on the bloke who screwed us over in 2004, and undercut our Australian tour just last year.
He brought in a bunch of his mates, who cost us a lot more money, and we decided to go up against the dominant wrestling promotion to satisfy his ego and got utterly humiliated.
Now we've blown all that money, and we're back to the same timeslot and have fewer viewers than before.
By the way, can we have a few million to bring in somebody else?"

Oh Lil' Dixie, anything for my little girl. I think Spike thought Hulk Hogan would push them further as well. A lot of marks did, the only people who knew better were the real fans who knew Hogan would do nothing but work his ego and push his pals. It's that arrogance of thinking they "know" better than the fans of what they really want. To the point a lot of people on the internet started believing that wrestling that "sucked" was what mainstream audiences wanted. Well guess what. Mainstream audiences would love to see Aj Styles as a face against Nigel McGinness in a main event where they are allowed to go full speed, or Bryan Danielson killing RVD setting up a hot PPV main event. Not Abyss with a ring, Hogan limping into the ring, Val Venis going over Chris Daniels, and hot shot world title changes on free tv.

This brings us to Heyman and TNA. I have absolutely had sources tell me in the last 24 hours that Heyman will be coming in full force and overseeing a complete makeover of the company roster and TNA's front office. However, all sides are still claiming that nothing has been put to paper. I do believe they are MUCH closer to a deal than they are letting on. It could even be they have agreed and are keeping it extremely quiet as well, although sources swear that is not the case. I will say this: Heyman knows how to market and present himself better than anyone, so my personal belief is he's waiting until he has exactly what he believes he needs/wants before agreeing to come in - or he's waiting to see if he gets a big offer from somewhere else - in order to get the best deal for himself. Time will tell pwinsider.com/article/49064/-a-familiar-face-at-this-weeks-impact-tapings-latest-on-tna-status-of-hogan-heyman-and-bischoff.html?p=1

Am I the only one that feels that Heyman has much to lose but little to gain?
Heyman's reputation for many in the IWC is the man with the Midas touch, that can simply do no wrong. So what happens if it doesn't work out in TNA for him?

"Heyman's reputation for many in the IWC is the man with the Midas touch" Ehh... considering how well ECW went eventually, I personally would not put it just that far .

Am I the only one that feels that Heyman has much to lose but little to gain? Eh, not really for Heyman. Even if he does badly and the hardcore hate him for it, he can just go back to the Heyman Hustle and continue gaining a bigger mainstream impression.

So it looks like Hogan and Bischoff may be out and Heyman in? I don't see the problem here, even half asses booking from Heyman has to be better than what they have been doing. Granted the show is getting booked better, has less swerves and hot shot booking, Heyman could actually book the show to be interesting. TNA has the talent, I personally think their roster is superior to the WWE's. Also I think with all of the familar faces and alot of the old WCW guys getting weeded out I could see why Heyman would want to come in, combine that with the young talent, the Spike TV deal, and it seems like TNA can have as much violence as he wants and all of the swearing.

This Heyman coming in stuff reminds me of when it seemed like Jarrett was getting kicked out and Angle was going to take control of TNA or whatever, too good to be true [only better than Angle imo]. I just... I am reluctant to believe it.
