Damn! Scary. Thank the lucky stars that he'll be okay. When I saw the updated thread title, my heart nearly skipped a beat. Thank God that he's expected to pull through.

Wow, that was a close one! Can't believe WWE had a close imitation of Chris Candido. Get well Steamboat! Not to be that guy, but a brain aneurysm isn't the same thing as a pulmonary embolism caused by a blood clot. I wasn't going directly blow-to-blow, I was just trying to make a comparision between the two. In that sense, it is waayyyy too eerie.

Holy crap, the Nexus are cursed. Glad to hear he's hanging in there, though.

Damn wonder which guy in Nexus this gets pinned on? I'm thinking Skip, that Lariat was viscious.

Holy f***.
I nearly lost my mother to a brain aneurysm about 5 years ago now, so I know from personal experience how stressful this situation is for his family and friends.
My thoughts go out to his family and here's to a speedy recovery for Ricky.

Hmm would now be a good time to debut Richie Steamboat? Or would it be after his dad gets out of the hospital?

Is it too early to start talking about a NXT angle curse?

Did you hear that?
That was the sound of a bullet whistling by.
Forget angles for a moment, Steamboat is a very lucky man right now and all prayers out to him and his family for a speedy recovery.

Sad stories are sad stories ultimately. Anyhow, it's good that Steamboat hasn't been a lot more physically active in recent years like some of his older peers. It might have ended a lot more tragically.

All I got to say I've NEVER heard of ANYONE surviving a brain aneurysm! I had a couple friends die from such. Maybe if detected early enough it can be prevented. Poison's Bret Michaels had bleeding of the brain recently and pulled through so let's hope so. I just picked up the Steamboat DVD yesterday! Hope he pulls through!

My aunt actually survived one... was in a coma for awhile but is mostly ok now.. just has some short term memory problems.

Alex Wright from WCW had a brain aneurysm late in 1997 too. So, Ricky is not the first man in wrestling to have this happen to him and live to talk about it.

Former all star baseball player John Olerud had a brain aneurysm while he was in college, he played 16 years in the Major Leagues after that without any effects from it. The only precaution was that he had to wear a helmet while playing in the field.
