All I know is that that was the best match The Miz has ever had. These two working together has been great for both guys.
I'm hoping he gets a LONG U.S. title reign as a fighting champion. That is the best route to go with him right now.

Maybe someday, but not right now.
I mean, what's the rush? Danielson's got a lot of mileage left on him. Right now, I'd be happy to see him 'elevate' the US Title a bit- well-worked, frequent defenses against people that aren't "perfect matches" for him.
He's in a great position right now- the belt essentially tells people "this guy can wrestle", and he can let his ringwork speak for itself past that. The audience that doesn't know him well, yet can see that he's skilled, and the story of a new guy winning a belt, then hanging onto it for dear life is an "old chestnut" for a reason- it works.
I just don't see a reason to go to the World title, right now. There's so much he can do at this level, before moving on.
(In advance, so certain people don't have to: 'Yeah, yeah, guy on the internet agrees with other guys on the internet, so it's a conspiracy if you don't think DBD wears stupid tights and he smiles and that's stupid, and he'll never swing a sledgehammer Main Event Style, and..." etc.)

Wait, all the Bryan haters haven't come in yet. Give it a few minutes. I'm expecting one in particular. If it's me, I'm flattered. If it's KoOS, then I'm jealous. I think this may be the highest belt. I'm sorry, and I really don't intend to be the "troll" I come off as, but I just don't see the man being a headliner in the company. But hey, the E has shocked me before. I don't either, and I like him. I still voted that he'll go higher though, but only in the sense that he'll have higher level feuds (not for a world belt) that can be considered above the midcard belts.

Taking into account the WWE's phasing out of their old guard right now, I don't think Bryan would be a bad pick to throw in some main events and have a brief world title run.
From what I've seen of it, I think the reason he dominated ROH as their champion for so long was because his natural charisma stood out, and his personality gradually developed. But since he's now in a company that's full of larger-than-life characters, he's gonna have to prove to me that he could carry a brand.

In all honestly, I don't see him becomming a World Champion simply due to his size. Yes you could argue that he's roughly the same size as The Miz, but The Miz is the perfect chickenshit heel type who has the potential to be a mainstream star, and even The Miz isn't a guaranteed World Champion either. Bryan's a great wrestler and could fill out the Benoit role nicely, but stand him next to HHH or Taker and he'd probably look shockingly small.
I hope I'm wrong though, because I really want him to make it.

That is a prediction. Jericho is old, HHH is old, Orton is younger but aging and injury prone, same goes for Cena. Who is going to be the main event for WWE in 5 years? Daniel Bryan is an excellent wrestler and is far superior in ring to Miz, Sheamus, Kofi or anyone else that you could term "the future of wwe". If they didnt want him to be a star they wouldnt have brought him back at all much less putting him in the Summerslam main event and giving him the U.S title. Im sorry, but as much as i used to despise the miz, and i really did, he's easily been the best thing about the WWE for the last year (and im a massive CM punk fan). As Good As DBD is, right now id pick the miz 10 times out of 10. that guy is golden right now. I honestly believe that DBD will run with this now so that the miz can cash in money in the bank and enter the main event scene

He's a much more imposing figure than Rey at least, so I can see him occasionally beating some big men (judging how well him and Batista meshed). But it definitely shouldn't be abused like it was with Mysterio for a while (as much as I like Rey).

I really don't see his size as a problem. His utter intensity in the ring more than makes up for it.

Indeed, and he's not like, Matt Bourne size. He isn't really THAT small.

People get better.
Miz: a while ago he had huge go away heat, and now he's just terrific and on the verge of greatness.
Punk: When punk first entered WWE, most believed that the ECW championship would be his top belt ever. And most people found him very bland (sound familiar?), then when he turned heel, the character I loved from ROH arised and he refined it and now he could believably contend for any world title.
Bryan can wrestle very well, and has had VERY good promo's on some indie shows in the past (albeit mostly as a heel).
My point is, give it time. He works very hard wherever he is. He WILL improve. And "knowing" what his place on the card will be (or even what his gimmick \ look is) 10 years from now is absurd.
