I like how people assume all homeless people are talentless scum of the Earth and that's such a shock that any of them would have some sort of skill.
They weren't born homeless.

He seems like such a genuinely nice guy and shows some level of education. I hope him well.

The most heart-warming story I've heard in a long time. I'm all for someone getting a second chance at life and I'm wishing him all the best.
Btw, I think it's dope that he's reppin' Bed-Stuy. Shoutout to Biggie and Chris Rock! haha

Hey I'm all for 2nd chances but he did put himself in this situation. There are people who work hard and dont get handed opportunities and houses just because their voice sounds good and people pity them. I hope he takes this chance and runs with it but he is taking work from people who didnt wreck their lives. A bit of my take as well. I will say again it's cool that he's getting a second chance and all; but not getting the shock and awe of a dude trained in broadcasting having a good voice. Congrats to him though, it is indeed a good story.

I hope he takes this chance and runs with it but he is taking work from people who didnt wreck their lives. I don't believe he's taking anything from people. It so happens that his voice sounding good is kind of the entire job description of an announcer, so if they, say, found a homeless man who was a damn good boxer, someone would probably give him a chance at that profession, too. Especially if it was good publicity, which is again part of what they like in production. This is an odd case where being homeless actually improves the resume.

I don't know if this says more about the situation of the homeless in this country, or what happens when you make your career in radio?

Homeless man with admitted drug issues did illegal things to survive? Shock! Sorry but this is just someone trying to make something out of nothing, and if this affects anyone opinion on this story not only would I be shocked but I would be disappointed in humanity

People steal to feed the beast. It's not pretty, but it's there.

Yeah, he admitted to have bad drug and alcohol problems. He's homeless. Is this news of having a rap sheet consisting of crimes consistent with those problems really unreasonable? If he gets off the streets, gets a job and straightens his life out he really won't have to turn to petty robbery anymore will he?
