As long as we keep politics out of the thread, it'll stay up. It is, after all, news.

I was in Egypt just as of October last year.
I extend Doctor Tull-eus S. Venture and also wish any 'Crappers from Egypt to be safe as well as any 'Crappers in Tunisia.
(Tunisia is also another country with problems at the moment).

Hopefully if this is revolution it doesn't go the way of Iran's 79 revolution.

I'm no expert about what's going on over there, but if some of the ancient artifacts are damaged/destroyed I'll be highly upset.

Then you will be glad to know that the Egyptian army has secured the Egyptian Museum in Cairo to protect the artifacts. The people are respecting the army, so the treasures of history should be fine.

Hopefully if this is revolution it doesn't go the way of Iran's 79 revolution. True. Or suffer another Operation Ajax if they do go the democratic route.

There is no Internet Access in Egypt at the Moment they have also cut off any cell phone/Mobile Networks so there is no Access to Phones.
According to BBC News (There not greatest source) that Social Networking has played a major role in the protests in Cairo and around Egypt.

I'd call BBC a pretty good source as they have a news division with bureaus all over the globe.

The BBC are a bit sketchy but they are better than Sky News who are simply our Version of FOX News with it's stance of Government etc.

Crisis in the middle east? Shocking. Egypt isn't the Middle East. It is Africa.

Geopolitically, the Middle East and North Africa are one region, and Sub Saharan Africa is another. You see, the Sahara and the Tsetse Fly are far more formidable as a barrier than any ocean.

That part world is better known as Arab World because of the Arabic Language.
Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Morocco Tunisia are all in Africa if your basing it on Continent.
Rest Arab World Iraq, Jordan, Iran etc are in Asia and also double up as the Middle East.
The whole population the Arab World is about 350 Million.
*I think also Comoros is an Arabic Country but don't hold me on that and that's also in Africa
