I'm cool with it. I'm incredibly fond of all three Matrix flicks...I'm all for more.

I really didn't care for the last one, and I don't see how they can have a 4th one since {Spoiler}Nero sacrificed himself to save everyone

I really didn't care for the last one, and I don't see how they can have a 4th one since {Spoiler}Nero sacrificed himself to save everyone They did mention that {Spoiler}Neo could return someday, plus they have to explain what the hell happened with him sacrificing himself, yes it reset the entire matrix but how? Why?. I'll be there opening day, absolutely adored the first and the sequels are guilty pleasures for me.

I love how the Larry is now Lara rumor will never die. However, I can't say after 2&3 and thhe MMORPG that I have any desire to see another Matrix film. Now, if they can produce a script that doesn't require me to have advance knowlege of computer science and comparative religions to figure out the ending, I be happy to watch Neo fight guys in suits again. In fact, throw in the Frenchman, and I'll rent it from Redbox. Heck, if they can just scale it down, and do the Matrix as a B-Movie Franchise, like Jurassic Park 3, I'll watch that. I don't need to rehear the first week of Philosophy 101.

I loved all the Matrix movies. The religious overtones in the third were great(and I'm not religious, just thought it was well done).

The first one was un-f***ing-believable when it came out. I'd go so far as to say that it was the last movie where the visual effects were something truly astonishing.
Now bullet-time has been overdone so much that it is hard to remember just how cool it was when it first came out.
The second one had one or two great sequences - the highway chase comes to mind.
I honestly don't remember a single thing about the last movie.

This could be one of the very few movies that can kick ass in 3D.

My interpretation of the ending {Spoiler}Neo was the last remaining program, because Smith had assimilated every other program. Rather than fight the Oracle-Smith, Neo lets himself become assimilated, thus triggering off a compete reset because there was now nothing left. The Machines needed a reason to reset the Matrix (programming restraints could not allow them to just randomly do it), and with no programs remaining after Neo, the reset can finally occur.

Further sequels to The Matrix seem a little unnecessary. Of course, this is a great demonstration of why I - as a film lover - tend to feel frustration with the mainstream movie-going audience. They don't want original, fresh and innovative films (which is why Scott Pilgrim didn't make as much money as it should have); they just want name recognition, brand recognition and the guarantee that they will get their monies worth. Fighting robots? Sure - make three of those movies. Kissing vampires? Sure - make five of those. An innovative, creative and game changing movie that was the film of last year? No way - we (the mainstream audience) don't care for that stupid indie-"hipster" flick with that kid that everyone hates but nobody really has an argument for why they hate him.
Sorry, my first post and I already devolved into a digression. On topic; The Matrix had one solid film and two disappointing sequels - please, the cash cow has been drained, let it die.

Nope. www.toplessrobot.com/2011/01/there_is_no_spoon_nor_are_there_more_matrix_movies.php#comments"Yesterday I, like a bajillion other sites on the infowebment supernetway, posted the news that Keanu Reeves had mentioned the Wachowski siblings had a plan for The Matrix 4 and 5, to be done in 3-D. Only problem -- he didn't actually do anything of the sort. Ain't It Cool News reported it that Reeves had made the announcement at a talk at some London school, except that 1) Reeves never said anything of the sort and 2) Reeves has never been to that school for a talk or any other reason. So, thankfully, the world will be spared more Matrix movies (...for now. Thanks to Abraxas for the correction. (Via The AV Club) "
