I've moved three times in the last year (yay college). During the moves, my Sims 3 CD has managed to disappear. The CD case is at my mom and dad's place, but the CD is completely missing. It's installed on my computer, staring at me, BEGGING ME TO PLAY, but because I don't have the stupid disc, I can't. I hate computer games. edit: Somebody suggested I make this into a Sims thread. DONE AND DONE.

People still play Sims? People use the quote here a lot so: That's so 2000 The first Sims was fun, a new version of Little Computer People from the 80's but after that it was typical EA Bullshit: Sequel, Sequel, Sequel and a million stupid add-ons on top of it. I really liked the first game, even bought the first 3 addons, after that i just stopped, it didn't made any sense.Sims 2 featured less stuff than the first Sims game and Sims 3 als featured less stuff than even before, there wasn't even a electric guitar and i just laugh abougt the fact they have that nightlife addon with that stupid vampire gimmick to please the "we're stupid teenager, we aren't worth anything and therefore we ove Twilight" crowd It's a shame what happened to Will Wright's creation

If it's installed on your computer, then can't you download some no CD patch or something?

Play Sims 2. It's better. I hope you totally personify your sims like me and consider them real people. It's a special part of my crazy.

I could play Sims 2, since I have all of those CDs with me, but... I want Sims 3 I took it out of the case cause I have so many freaking CDs/DVDs etc etc that I just put them all in a CD book, but TS3 is missing from its spot. I don't know where it went

Coincidentally, I've been meaning to ask someone how Sims 3 holds up. I always buy the games, but after building a couple dream houses and some people, I just get so bored with the utter monotony of the "life" mode. I mean...is it any fun actually living as a Sim in this game? Or is it just "go to the bathroom", "go to work", "eat", "go to the bathroom"?

I always buy the games, but after building a couple dream houses and some people, I just get so bored with the utter monotony of the "life" mode. Sims started out as a "House building simulation" then Maxis created people, they took notice of Little Computer People. Except for "build a house, let some people live" there isn't anything to do. Except maybe for "create a strange neighbourhood". I had me and my girlfriend live in a house...next to Slash, across the Street were Robocop, the Terminator, and the rest of our neighbourhood was filled with Axl Rose (he DID get along with Slash, shockingly), Dio, Duke Nukem and a bund of other characters. It was fun for about 2 hours. Then i created the Bundy family, rebuilt he Bundy house which was fun for another 30 minutes and then...it was boring. Sims 1 at least allowed people to create all kind of weird things, new computers, new items to use and stuff. EA doesn't allow that since Sims 2, they only allow the items to have a new color or something.

Sims 2 is actually a really good storytelling tool, if you look on to the internet there are a LOT of good things that have been written using the game. I don't know about you people, but my sims are all real people with developed personalities and none of you can convince me otherwise.
.. I should probably not get too far into this.

Guys, Sims 3 is like $20.00 bucks at Amazon. That's like, cheap. Especially for the Sims. My guess is, EA realized that if you sell the original game at a low price, you can make money on Expansions. Makes sense. Frankly, I'm waiting for Medieval, which looks like the coolest game ever, even if the Magic Based Spin-off always falls flat (Age of Mythology, Lords of Magic.) I liked them.
And a Vampire expansion makes sense. They did do a Harry Potter expansion pack. It had a bear in it.
