Anyone know if WWE released him on their own or if MVP asked for it?

Occurs to me that in merchandise they'll need a new token black guy to regularly include with the main eventers. My guess is Kofi.

As far as being able to enter other countries goes, is that a life-long thing, or is there anything you can ever do to convince the country that you've turned around? Generally it's for life. It depends on the nature of the crime and the length of your imprisonment. An 18 year sentence for armed robbery and kidnapping is a big deal. You certainly wouldn't be able to obtain a work visa pretty much ever, especially in Japan with that on your record. It's all right for you to say you've turned over a new leaf but it's pretty understandable why a country won't take that risk just so you can work there as a foreign national. He might be able to visit countries with such restrictions on visas with a visa wavier, however. That would only allow him to visit for up to 90 days, not work.

They've been shifting towards using Kofi and/or R-Truth in this role for a while now. And it probably isn't a coincidence that MVP's depush has occured alongside the rise of a couple other black upper-midcarders. Sorta like the way Funaki and Jimmy Wang Yang finally got released right after Yoshi Tatsu was established enough to take the "token Asian guy" spot on the roster.

I think it's a shame WWE wasn't pushing him, because obviously, he was over from the crowd reaction.

MVP is an example of wasted talent. I will miss him as he had great potential but politics in the wwe ruined that.

I'm a little ticked off, because I'm a huge MVP fan, but the writing's been on the wall for a long time. He didn't appear happy there, clearly, and they didn't seem to have any intention of using him in a capacity other than "guy who puts over heels in the midcard", so I guess it's a win/win. It doesn't matter if your a jobber or winning matches. People fail to remember that unlike TNA, the WWE actually pays all of their talent very well, heck even the lower card talent are probably making six figures a year, while guys like the MCMG in TNA are probably making $400 an appearance. There is big difference in pay scales between the WWE and TNA, minus top dollar talent. The only way MVP is making close to what he did in the WWE is if he goes to Japan.

He should have stayed with the drive by and maybe a mafia kick
with his colorful costume and mexico's lack of enforcing copywrite law, he will be over like rover and making money in mexico and in puerto rico.
Japan will never happen for him.
