I miss "the hang-up". You'd be so pissed at somebody you'd slam the phone down. Then my dad would yell a few choice curses at me along with "Don't break the phone!"
(I remember when I was a kid in the '70s, you got the phone from the phone company, like how you get a converter box from the cable company. You didn't go to KMart or Sears to buy a phone until the mid-to-late 1980s.)

I still own and use a VCR, so I and my niece & nephew still know what 'rewind' means. Also, we still have dial-up internet out here where I live as well. It sucks, but satellite internet is just too expensive.

That's why whenever someone bitches about how the world sucks, I remind them they have a magic box in their pocket that lets them talk to anyone they want.

I never occurred to me until I read this that the save icon sued on everything is outdated beyond all belief. Remember when we used them for playing games in all their Technicolor barf visual glory?

Me: "Okay, so now you click the Floppy Disk to save your work." Pupil: "Click the what?"
I felt so very, very old... had to bring one in just so he'd get it.

Plus the realization that just about every episode of Seinfeld could be resolved in moments. I hadn't really thought about that but yeah, just about every plot issue could be resolved by a cell phone.

Or remember the days when a cell phone did absolutely nothing other than make phone calls.

Or remember the days when a cell phone did absolutely nothing other than make phone calls. Of course it seems like now days most of them can't handle that function all that well.

Hell, remember when floppy disks were actually floppy? Yeah same. I remember when the big ones were called floppy, and the 3.5 were called hard discs. Then they became floppies and the memory in the system became hard disks. Confounding stuff.

I've tried to explain to my nieces how or Apple-II E was such a cool machine because it had a duel disc drive so you could use an OS and play a game at the same time. They didn't so much get what was impressive about that.

A few comments-
Never thought about how the save icon was obsolete. Anyway my mom was doing something on the computer and I told her to click the floppy disc to save. She had no clue what I was talking about. I remember a few years ago I bought a new computer and wanted to transfer some of my song to my new one. I got an error message and an explanation that I would have to do something involving a floppy disk. That was fine and dandy but there were two problems. The floppy disk drive had broke and I never bothered replacing it and this computer does not even have a floppy drive on it.
As far as VCRs and rewinding, the first time I ever seen a DVD and realized that there was no rewinding I thought it was the greatest thing ever. BTW maybe I am in the minority but I never understood the logic of using one of those rewinders when the VCR had a rewind function. In 8th grade I had a class that sometimes required you to watch a tape. When you got done you had to use the rewinder despite the VCRs having a rewind function.
Saturday Morning Cartoons-I remember these fondly. Do any networks at all play any Saturday Morning cartoons?
Dial up internet-Up until 2009 I used dial-up. After my dad got a computer I went to DSL. Now I do not want to go back.
Using a phone with a cord-My parents still have a phone with a cord however I do not have a personal telephone but use my cheap cell phone. A lot easier and a lot cheaper.

I remember if there was a movie, TV show or wrestling VHS tapes not available in Australia, you only had two options:
i: If you had a friend or family member living a country where the VHS is available to send it to you.
ii: Order it from a magazine. So it would take over a month for the VHS to arrive because you had to post them a money order (14 is too young to own a Credit Card) and you had to make sure you had enough money to convert into the other currency.
One thing that article did not mention is probably using cheques, money/bank orders to order things. Thanks to Debit Cards, Paypal and just having your bank account online have pretty much ended that.
Hell give it another 50 years and we might not even need cash anymore.

No Saturday morning cartoons makes me very sad,I used to/still do hold much love for them, and wish that they weren't so low quality nowadays.

Had a guy bring in some medical textbooks to sell to us this past week. He was furious when I told him I couldn't really do anything with them because they were so old, they still came with 3.5s in them, thus useless.

I remember playing Oregon Trial on a old computer where it's like green lines and text.
