(see thread title.) A friend of mine used to claim that. He'd demonstrate it with all sorts of films. (His Amadeus angle was pretty good... 'too many notes' translates well to a particular chairman's attitude toward 'vanilla midgets' with fiddly movesets.)
I'd be interested to see what you all could come up with. Anyone game? (There's something that could be made out of, say, Almost Famous, but I'm not sure what.)

Almost Famous - young wrestler wants to get his big break, he shows up first with grainy (GTV style) interview segments, before getting his shot as bqckstage interviewer. Somehow he befriends an upper mid-card stable, but they're still a little wary of him. As the stable begin to break up due to one guy getting a higher profile, he gets caught up in the tension, resulting in a match with the head of the stable. Young wrestler shows he has a lot of talent before losing the match, but he earns the true respect of the experienced wrestler who becomes somewhat of a mentor figure.

Amadeus is easy. It's another variation on pretty much every "uptight, goody-two-shoes babyface gets annoyed that fans are more interested in cheering an amoral, antiheroic face over him, turns heel" angle.
And Inception? The sci-fi bells and whistles are tricky for a non-New Generation angle, but we've got a "face tries to put one over on the heel, screws up, is forced to work for heel to win his freedom" story at the core, with the slight twist that the heel makes a face turn and winds up not being such a bad fellow by the end.

Cena? I can't see it. I don't think we're privileged to.

Clerks: Long running tag team gets in a fight centered around each other's core weaknesses, yet don't break up at the end, instead opting to make up and become an even stronger team because of it.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show:
New to the roster, tag team partners Brad and Janet are attacked backstage, but are rescued thanks to a save by Frank N. Furter, also somewhat new to the company, together with his lackies Riff Raff and Magenta. At first, they're grateful, and team up with Frank and his stable for the next few weeks, but they're somewhat offput by his flamboyant nature (particularly around the group's hired muscle, Rocky) and grow more suspicious after his brutal match up with babyface Eddie which leaves the latter on the injured list. We see backstage promos in which Frank seduces both Brad and Janet independently, which leaves them distracted, losing a series of matchups.
Tensions flare when Brad and Janet's trainer Dr. Scott makes an appearance. Shocking revelations come in quick succession, with Frank's seductions of the others revealed, Eddie revealed to be Dr. Scott's nephew, and Frank and his lackeys are invaders from TNA!
Brad and Janet protest, but Frank reveals that he got them to sign contracts without noticing, they're working for him now. Fortuitous timing, too, as he has a big match coming up at Wrestlemania. If he wins, he gets the World Title, but if he loses, he's fired. At the PPV, they both help with his entrance fanfare, but during the ceremony, he's turned on by Riff Raff, who hits his finisher on both him and Rocky, rolling him into the ring and allowing the champion to get the pinfall. Frank has a touching moment as he prepares to return 'home' to TNA, but Riff Raff has other ideas, and beats him with a steel chair, putting him out of the business entirely. Brad and Janet take a leave of absence from the big companies, going to the indies instead. (While there, they have an intriguing angle involving Brad's heel twin brother and a mental asylum, but that's another story.)

I think Shock Treatment's a great little film in its own right (and the original scripts were even better, when it was set all around Denton rather than in the film studios) but it was never going to live up to Rocky Horror.
Any other films we can convert? How about The Crow? Oh no, WCW did that one already. How about Robocop?
...
Damnit, WCW.

Wow, that sound like a mix of Paul Heyman's start and a little Ready to Rumble

Let's see somebody do The Human Centipede. Heel mastermind befriends face trio then tricks/forces them into forming a stable against their will. The trio struggle and refuse as best they can to cooperate and get beat down for it. Angry, the heel tries to find new lackeys but those who approach him don't trust him and want to break the stable apart. The trio try to break free but the heel beats down two of them, putting one on the shelf and one getting the taped ribs treatment. The heel and the faces he approached but was rebuffed by take him down but everyone is pretty beat. The taped up lackey is caught up in the fracas and is also shelved, leaving one lost, traumatised face remaining.

Eraserhead: All I can figure out so far is Carlito is in the title role. It'd have to involve Kane, too. Eraserhead is about as coherent and logical as the average Kane angle.

Network:
An aging babyface wrestler starts taking uncharacteristic actions in his matches, including the use of steel chairs and kendo sticks. Then an ambitious new female commissioner sees a money-making opportunity in said aging wrestler, and promotes him as a grizzled, hardcore-style wrestler that "speaks" for the fans- much to the chagrin of the veteran's best friend, who believes the veteran is losing his mind.
The commissioner begins a relationship with the friend, leading to conflicts with his long-time valet. Meanwhile, the erratic hardcore veteran goes too far one night when he assaults numerous referees and officials after a match, which earns him a tongue-lashing from the promotion's chairman- who insists the veteran start to tow the company line.
The veteran does so, irritating the commissioner. She then has her new militant heel faction beat down the veteran, perhaps ending his career. The veteran's friend ends his relationship with the commissioner out of disgust.
