Not so obscure for fans of Robot Unicorn Attack, but....FIRST WISH! PRESS Z TO MAKE YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE! ....and featuring Annoyed Hitler on keyboards You consider Erasure and Sparks obscure one hit wonders? Sparks doesn't get the love they deserve on those Sounds of the 70's compilations that Roger Daltrey or some other old rock star is trying to make you buy at 4 in the morning, I'll tell you that much. Frankly I consider Sparks one of the best bands ever, and so should you. They influenced EVERYBODY. It doesn't mean they weren't one and done on the charts. Ditto for Erasure. They had a lot more success in Europe, but I can't remember another song off the top of my head they did that charted here, and I'm guessing unless you're an obsessive music geek and I mean the kind that memorizes the liner notes from every They Might Be Giants album, neither can you. So yes, both are one hit wonders with an asterisk. But having only one hit is not a bad thing. It's one more hit than almost everybody else and TONS of great bands only had one single make the charts...if at all. Goes to show you, when it comes to good music that stands the test of time? f*** the charts.

Erasure as a one-hit wonder? Wow.
Also, loved Shakespear's Sister, sure wish they'd kept that together longer.

BTW, are Bad English 1-hit wonders? Considering that the follow-up single reached #5 on the charts, no, they are not a 1 hit wonder. They aren't even a 2 hit wonder as the next song was a top 20 hit.

I DID mention they had more success at home than here in the states, where they'd be largely forgotten if it weren't for Robot Unicorn Attack. It was another example of the charts not meaning jack shit. Someone posted Nenah Cherry, so here's Eagle Eye. Back in the day, I'd leave the radio on while I slept, and the radio station ALWAYS played this song to the point where I became convinced it was stalking me. Red Rider, successful in Canada but in the US a one hit wonder. Interesting to note though, Tom Cochrane of Red Rider DID have another US hit when he went solo. This song. So is he still a one-hit wonder, or is he the Mewtwo of one hit wonders, the double dip one hit wonder?

Not a one-hit wonder, but aside from us who liked their stuff, who else really remembers them?

I remember the following you guys have posted:
Charles & Eddie - Would I Lie To You? Skee-Lo - I Wish Eagle Eye Cherry - Save Tonight Divinyls - I Touch Myself
And that's it. This one isn't obscure, it's just a really catchy 1 hit wonder:

Not a one-hit wonder, but aside from us who liked their stuff, who else really remembers them? Quite a few people here. 3AM Eternal went to #1 here and they already had a #1 a couple of years earlier as The Timelords. I love "Justified and Ancient" with Tammy Wynette. They're infamous due to an incident at an awards show where they shot blanks out of a machine gun.

It seemed like this song was everywhere in the summer of 2001, but I haven't really heard it since:
(LANGUAGE WARNING)
"Shaniqua Don't Live Here No Mo' " by Little T and One Track Mike
This one was also a hit in 2001:

Red Rider, successful in Canada but in the US a one hit wonder. Here's an interesting fact about Red Rider: the bassist was actually a member of Rush long before they ever recorded a demo. And speaking of Canadian prog rock, here's an obscure band that only had one hit stateside:
