I noticed on the Lexapro thread that a surprising number of us were either on it or had had some experience with it.
So what other drugs (prescription, i know you're all on other stuff but lets not talk about that) are you taking and for what? I know that this is kind of a personal mater, but I can't help but be a little curious.
All I'm on is a multivitamin, and I hope it stays that way

No. I used to be. I was once prescribed Zoloft (later changed to Paxil) and Ritalin...
UGH. It just made the worst years of my life even worse. Got off of those as fast as I could.

Wow, where to begin.
I used to use a steroid puffer called Flovent, which is a steroid puffer, usually orange. However, my asthma isn't a problem. I also used to get Nasonex, which was a perscription nasal spray.
Now, unto the pills:
Effexor - That's for anxiety and depression. It keeps me mellow. Not a good idea to come off this, as withdrawl can lead to bad things. 2 a day
Sulfasalazine - This is for my arthritis, and I take 4 of these a day. It's helping me move better and I'll be able to go back to work thanks to this.
Prednisone - More for the arthritis. 1 a day, and a very low dose as apparently it can be pretty bad, and it is a steroid. Steroids aren't all bad BROTHER!
Diclofenac - This is for pain. 3 a day. The specialist said I could still take this with the rheumatoid arthritis medications, so I guess that's not too bad.
I also used to take prescription strength ibuprofen for my pain, but it wasn't really working, and due to that, I have a shit load left in my room.

Marijuana as well, so that too. Others would probably just kill themselves. I'm sorry. I know medication might seem a little out of control at this point but I also don't like reading condescending stuff like that either. As always, the answer lies in the middle.

I'm agreeing here I guess. The world is more medicated, but life expectancy has gone up a lot since a lot of these medications were put in place.

Right now some antibiotics, they prescribed some painkillers as well but I have no desire to use them, I never even bothered to fill that prescription.

Cymbalta for my OCD and Tourette's. And something called Verapamil, which is a calcium beta blocker for a neurological condition I have. Basically it prevents pain and lowers my blood pressure. I also have an oxygen tank prescription for the times the Verapamil fails and the pain comes on anyway - regular pain meds don't work for this condition, and the only thing that makes the pain stop is oxygen. I don't have to use it all that often though *knock on wood* My digestive tract is also so f***ed up that I take a Prilosec every day, because if I don't, I won't even be able to eat because I'm in so much pain. And I take a probiotic to help my digestion a bit more, but that's not really a medicine. Oh, and birth control. I'm a wreck

Does Piroxicam count? I take one or two every week to keep my back from getting completely stiff. Prednisone - More for the arthritis. 1 a day, and a very low dose as apparently it can be pretty bad, and it is a steroid. Steroids aren't all bad BROTHER! I took those when my my feet got swollen. Probably the second-worst tasting medicine I took, I remember taking one and instead of going down my throat it got stuck in my tongue. It was yech. I vaguely remembering the doctor telling me to lower the dosage first instead of stopping it immediately. In any case, back when the doctor wasn't sure that I had ankylosing, I had been given lots of stuff to take for the pain, but nowadays it's just Piroxicam, which I used to take once a day.

I used to be on Celexa and Wellbutrin. They saved my life actually. Problem is, the effects wore off and I'd have to up the dose. I also got a lot of tremors from Celexa.
