Word just came out that a demo for Resistance 3 will be included with all Blu-Ray copies of Battle: Los Angeles, which comes out on June 14th. Speaking of that, I had a question. Are you guys fans of the Resistance series? I was at Gamestop earlier today looking to try something new, so I grabbed the first one for ten bucks. And yes, I know I'm years behind lol First one: It's a good FPS. Coop was awesome, multiplayer too. And I got it new for like 150czk (10 bucks)

I got the first two along with a couple of other games for about £20 a few weeks back, & I think they are really good. A nice change of pace from "The Russians did something wrong again! Kill them!"

I absolutely loved the first one. I haven't gotten the second Resistance yet but the first one was the most fun I've had in a FPS in a LONG time.

Awesome, thanks for the input guys. Looks like I made a good call. Oh, if you like lone-wolf FPS games then certain parts of the game will be right up your alley. And either way, for ten bucks I don't think I can argue against even that.

Speaking of which...I was talking to a friend about this the other day and I'm wondering what the consensus is here: Are any of you at all amped about Duke Nukem Forever? Myself, I think the time for that game has come and gone, and the game itself is going to be...well....hideously out of place in a world that's seemingly moved ON from such things as "slapstick FPS" games. Not sure how well the Duke is going to do in the "next generation". Seems like it's going to be gaming's equivalent of "Chinese Democracy".

On a PS3/Xbox 360 combined note, Portal 2 is going for $35 on Amazon. Don't know for how long, but if you'd been waiting for a price drop, grab it now!

Can't believe this crap is still down. I was reading on ign.com and Sony said that some services would be up by the 4th. Well, it is now 2:43 am central time and the PSN is still down. I don't get it.

I don't get it. They also said they won't bring it up until they're sure it's safe. It's typical last-minute bugs and oversights that pop up and extra time is needed before releasing it. Once you've played MMOs for enough time, you get used to it.

So, anyway, I got me a PS2 last week, and I've quickly grown a small library:
*Grand Theft Auto 3 (the disk is a little faulty and freezes at times, but it works better than when I found it) *Grand Theft Auto: Vice City *Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas *Jak & Daxter *Jak II *WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes the Pain *NCAA March Madness 2005 *NCAA College Football 06 *NHL 07
Going through the bargain bin really helped in getting most of these games at the GameStop, but I grabbed the GTA games from a nearby pawn shop.

The first part of the first Resistance game pissed me off, because I didn't know anything about the story going into it. Basically, you have no health regeneration and it takes like.. .two or three hits to kill you... and your enemies are damn good aim. Oh yeah, and it takes a shit-ton of bullets to kill them, your accuracy isn't that great, and it just made me wonder why I was even playing since all I did was spawn.. .run... attempt to shoot, get shot.. die.
Of course, once you get past that... you're immediately given a near indestructible tank. Kinda like them saying, "Sorry about that first part... to make it up to you, kill some shit in this tank."
