I remember going to see "Carlito's Way" with a couple friends at the local multi-plex and seeing this HUGE crowd gathered in the arcade. It wasn't until we were waiting in line for concessions that we heard "BABALITY!"..."FRIENDSHIP! FRIENDSHIP?!"...and the ever-famous "FATALITY!". After craning our necks over the crowd, we realized that Mortal Kombat 2 had finally made it's way to our local arcade. We quietly marked out. About an hour into the movie, we thought we would check out the arcade. See if the crowd got smaller. It did not. We finally managed to get close enough to see a Double-Friendship, and a Babality-Friendship. That's right...we got one of the earlier arcade versions with glitches a'plenty.

While you have your Street Fighters and your Tekkens, Mortal Kombat will always have a special place as being my favorite fighter to take out my aggression on. And while some people may find it a little sick, I love coming up with Fatalities in my head and seeing just how gruesome you can get with them.
In terms of favorite characters over the years, I marked for Ermac, Noob and Kung Lao, but my appreciation for Kung Lao didn't really exist until I played Shaolin Monks.
To think that I used to be afraid of this game sort of makes me laugh now. I played UMK3 on the Playstation without the blood feature simply because it used to freak me out. I don't remember whether it was Cyrax or Sektor, but one of them had this fatality where they would pump gas into the opponents head and then it would explode off screen and it used to freak me the hell out. However, I admit the first movie did alleviate my fears, I didn't become a true MK fan until I was about 13 or 14.
But seriously, this new one looks awesome. I think the only complaint I have is that Reptile and Baraka's character designs are a little shoddy, but everyone else looks incredible.

Mortal Kombat: Conquest was awesome! Is it on Dvd yet? I don't think it's available here in the states.

Street Fighter will always be number one for me fighting games wise, however Mortal Kombat is always fun.
Well except for Kano in the original MK1 and his damned spinning cannonball move. I don't know if it still needs the same input but good grief was that awkward to do and implement in a match.
Is Shinnok in the game? Really hope he isn't as he felt like a poor mans Shang Tsung. Speaking of Tsung have they finally figured out how to make him change into every other character like he used to be able to do or has he lost that ability for good?

I'm wondering for 9 what they're going to do with Noob Saibot. The Sub-Zero in the game I've heard is the original one but both of them are confirmed for it, so I take it the younger one is him now?
Also, what's with the Quan Chi hard-on? I like him, but it's very much in spite of how they treat him as the most evil and best villain ever, and he's clearly the only character outside the first three games they care about.

Sheeva and Queen Sindel would always be my favorite villain out of Mortal Kombat.
Sonya Blade has always been my favorite I always play as her.
I remember when I played I think it was Armageddon when they introduce Blaze and I nearly had a Game Rage because Blaze was so hard to beat until I finally picked someone who was good to beat him and when I beat him I felt accomplished.

Noob Saibot is still the same guy as the original Sub-Zero, aka Sub-Zero V. The Sub-Zero in MK9 is the younger brother (Sub-Zero VI), the same one we've seen as Sub-Zero since MKII.

Since the PS3 version of MK is getting Kratos, does anyone know if they have something lined up for the 360 version?

I had owned Shaolin Monks on the PS2. I must have lost it at a friend's house or something; I was looking for it and couldn't find it. Either way...if I were to buy a copy for the original X-Box, would it be compatible with my 360? I remember hearing "certain games" are backward compatible.

No, the story is that everybody thinks SZ has come back from the dead, but its actually his little brother. The older one gets Noobed, but {Spoiler}the younger one gets Roboticized in Smoke's place. Leaks confirmed there's a "Cyber Sub-Zero Leg rip fatality is their all time favorite.

Just curious but was anybody able to ever pull off a brutality in UMK3? Those seemed pretty difficult to pull off, especially the amount of combos.

Since the PS3 version of MK is getting Kratos, does anyone know if they have something lined up for the 360 version? As far as I know, the 360 won't be getting any exclusive stuff. Which is bullshit, but that's the way it goes. NetherRealm seem to be treating the 360 version as a bit of an afterthought. Of course, now that I've said this, they'll probably announce Fulgore as an exclusive character or something... With that said, I'm still not entirely sure which system I should get the game for. I'll probably end up getting the PS3 version because... well, the 360 D-pad and fighting games really do not match. Kratos is a non-factor for me, I'm not a fan of God Of War so I don't particularly care about his inclusion. He seems to be integrated into the game very well, though.

Sorry, too late for that. Sub-Zero, Chinese Ninja Warrior was already posted on page 1. DieselTrain: John Tobias quit Midway in the late 90s, I'm pretty sure it had to do with the sinking popularity (and quality) of the MK series. I think he was involved in some capacity with MK vs. DCU, though.

Any word on whether or not there will be Hara-Kiris in this game? That was one of the more better additions & I wouldnt mind seeing them return.

I doubt shinnok is in the game, unless they have him later as a DLC. Some goes for the hara-kilis.
