Forgive me if this has been mentioned somewhere else, but I just finished watching Raw and when I saw DiBiase approach Lawler, I was SURE WWE finally decided to have DiBiase BUY something. He even came to the ring with a shirt that said "Everyone has a Price" on the back.
But what does he do? He tells Lawler to give him his spot. WHY DIDN'T HE TRY TO BUY IT!?

And it didn't really come out of nowhere. They had been building to their breakup for awhile, and of course Maryse was going to be the face in it. She's more popular than Ted. |

I dunno, it seems like they're about to pull the trigger on something with DiBiase. He goes on a losing streak, losing the faith of both Maryse, and Brodus Clay, he gets a big win over Daniel Bryan in what was a really good match. Then Brodus dumps him for Alberto Del Rio, then Maryse dumps him for being a loser, and using her as a shield and then he gets sucker punched by Lawler.
Typical reaction is that it looks like he's being buried, but I don't see that. I think its building up to something for Ted that is really gonna catapult him. I bet on NXT he wrestles Brodus, and whether he wins or loses something will happen to keep this downward spiral storyline for Ted going.
Maybe its just me but when I look at Ted in character right now, he looks like he's about to go psycho, even when he smiled at Maryse before she slapped him, the smile on his face seemed a bit on the unhinged side.
Maybe he's gonna snap and become this sociopathic psycho millionaire character. Kinda like if Mr. McMahon had been an actual wrestler. I could see Vince wanting to see how something like that would play out.
Maybe I'm just thinking about it too much lulz.

So we get the "American Psycho" gimmick that was floating around here a few months ago but Ted instead of Cody?
Heh, might as well team them up again, with Cody missing his face and Dibiase missing his money.

I feel bad for him every time I see him. He's loaded with potential and can work a great match, but they just drop the ball with him every single time.
Being attacked by Lawler is just as low as he can from this point.

I wouldn't want Ted to lose his money, I'd want him to use to do evil things. I'm talking 1999 Big Bossman evil..... Ok no making people eat chi hua hua's (much funnier if you say it the way I spelled it), but something along those lines.
Like he could be feuding with a guy, and then he finds out where they live and he buys the houses on both sides of the person he's feuding with. He then finds all kinds of undesirable people to live in those houses and make home life hell for the guy he is feuding with.
A normal heel couldn't do something like that, but a millionaire heel who's gone psychotic could easily pull something like that off.

This is pretty much what me and my friends have been thinking and hoping for for the past couple of months or so. He's been very ragey for a long time, then a couple weeks ago he just seemed so sad, and this week he kind of looked like he'd lost it. He was just so... giggly. I will seriously be so happy if this happens. I really like DiBiase, and would like to see him do something more on tv than appear for two minutes and job to someone or get slapped by Maryse. |

I'm convinced that Ted Dibiase has "it", and just hasn't figured out what to do with "it" yet. I'm still shocked that Rhodes is currently doing better out of the two.

There've been plenty of missed opportunities with Ted. The WWE seems to be big on wanting to push him, but have no idea how. They need to either drop the rich guy gimmick, or go full out on it.
