No i think youd have to be either suicidal or Mick Foley to do that spot with no protection however i think even 23 chairs fallign from height with no protection at all is a little too far fetched even for mick foley

No. Absolutely not.
That would put his health at high risk with a stupid spot. I would be a waste of just risk.
Many chair's could've jagged his neck, legs, back. He could've been out for a long time.

I thought the same thing, and it would have looked incredibly cool without the table, but no, nobody can calculate the damage so many chairs from such a height could do.

The only way I would even consider someone doing this would be if it was obscured by something (A bit of set or something.) Then have Barrett covered by one of those foot-thick crash mats. And even then the only way to make it work would be to rig all the chairs to somehow fall on him to cover the mat.

I rather they not have done the spot at all. Cena already did the AA on 6 chairs. Besides Barrett returned one week later, not like there was a point for such an elaborate spot. Cena putting Barrett through the chairs with the AA should have been the end. It looked painful and it would explain Barrett's absence the following night. The spot looked stupid with the plank and extremely stupid and dangerous if it wasn't there. Cena in his battles tend to go over the top when matches end. He FU'ed Batista after Batista said I quit and he has done it before to JBL I think. Extremely heelish moves that are ignored the following night. Unless the face while going over the top with an opponent after a match leads to the face turning heel, otherwise don't do it.

I say yes, with at least most of the chairs being rigged.
No with standard steel chairs

While I agree with the too dangerous bit I have two comments:
1: Youtube czw to see prime examples of stupidly dangerous spots.
2: Why not just have this scenario, cena beat wade on the back with a chair, then keeps tosses chairs on barret one by one until he's covered, same visual, safer way of doing it.

No, but they could have came up with a better stunt. Yeah. They could have had Cena AA Barrett from a high place or off the stage into a table with pads underneath.

A steel chair coming down from about 15 feet up, foot first on your windpipe. Or even just your face. Surivive that. Yes, fatal. Admittedly, that's a worst case scenario, but in this situation, it was absolutely a possibility. Don't they use chairs that are basically hallow? Doesn't matter anything falling at that pace would develop momentum enough to be fatal. Even if it was one chair, with enough height, it would be career ender. One probably safer way to be buried was one SD Superstars buried Big Show in SD MITB ladder match. Instead of ladders, Cena should use chairs.

To better the stunt, he should have fallen into a pit... like by crashing THROUGH the stage or something. The camera show him laying at the bottom of this pit, then the cut away to show Cena about to drop all these chairs into the pit. As the camera shows Cena, Barrett is able to cover himself underneath something. On screen, you just see Cena dropping a bunch of chairs into this pit. After they all fall, you see the pile of chairs in the pit with Wade Barrett only slightly visible under the pile. The viewer would have no idea Wade was able to protect himself from all those chairs. That would have actually been pretty cool.

While it would have been much more badass....there is no way that could be performed safely.
Remember in ECW hen fans would toss chairs into the ring? Exactly. People get hurt.
Taking the move even with the board on top of him was still risky to do as the board could have shifted and he taken an errant shot from above.

Funny how no one has mentioned the Foley & Funk chairs flying into the ring incident that took place in ECW.

Funny how no one has mentioned the Foley & Funk chairs flying into the ring incident that took place in ECW. Because it wasn't a planned event. There's no way to ensure Wade won't get hurt by chairs falling onto his exposed flesh. And taking them to prove how 'tough' he is just results in Mick Foley syndrome.

You know to those saying it should have ended with the AA on the chairs and there was no point to that spot, are you forgetting this is the whole reason CM Punk went after Cena? So it certainly served a purpose.
By no, no way in hell should Barrett have taken it unprotected. And despite the 13 people voting yes, I'm glad no-one else who's posted in this thread thinks he should have either.

Absolutely not.
That said, I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if TNA have a more dangerous version of said spot at some stage, just to prove how 'edgy' they can be.

You can't see heavy metal objects falling from a large height onto someone's unprotected body being very painful? Way too dangerous.
