This keeps bugging me every time it gets replayed, and the IWC seem to be mocking it quite badly too. Should Barrett have taken those chairs to the body without the wooden bedframe on top of him? I can't see it being *that* painful, what with adrenaline and all, and it would have made for a much better visual.
Hell, they could have even rigged the highest chairs. I just can't help but think it would be better if that damn bedframe wasn't there.

Well yeah...but they didn't want to take the risk of one smashing his face in falling from the ceiling.

Well yeah...but they didn't want to take the risk of one smashing his face in falling from the ceiling. Or back of his head. Or neck. Seriously the chairs aren't that light. They are a lot heavier then they appear. So it's not a good idea.

You can't see heavy metal objects falling from a large height onto someone's unprotected body being very painful?

How about if he crouched and covered his head with his hands, so they were hitting him in the back?

The bedframe looked bad, but I think it was more the frame that was the problem than him being covered for the chair fall. If the frame had been closer to the ground it wouldn't have been bad. But no, he shouldn't have taken it without something. Far too much that could go wrong there.

One of those chairs falls strait down and jabs a leg into his kidney and he's in the hospital for a very long agonizing time.

No. He should've just taken a beatdown. No need for an over elaborated spot that can only look really fake or be extremely dangerous.

Absolutely not. It would have been rediculously dangerous, to the point that I doubt Foley would have taken it. THere is no concievable way to make those chairshots safe without covering the body because the freefalling chairs would have broken something. Most likely lots of things with a high probability of ending his career and shortening his life.

I still think it was just to embarrass him, not so much injure him. After all Cena already hit the AA on 6 chairs to beat him. This was just insult to injury in my opinion.

No. That just borders on dangerous and potentially career-ending.

No, but they could have came up with a better stunt.

I think he should've just been covered with a table, or more chairs. Something that was physically touching him so that it would be believable that the chairs actually hurt, while not leaving him exposed to badly.

What the hell would have stopped a stray one from hitting him in the head, or breaking his elbow, or something else?

Take the chairs directly? What did Wade Barrett ever do to you?

Pallets are indestructible. Stressed human bones, on the other hand, are not.

Absolutely not. The idea of professional wrestling is to try and avoid actually hurting your opponents, especially to that degree.
