Celtic and Rangers fans have proven that they can not be trusted to be allowed in a bigger league You're making the classic mistake of believing that both team's fans are identical with the exception of which team they support. Only one support rioted in Manchester and find themselves under constant scrutiny from UEFA and it's unlikely you'll read reports of Walter Smith being sent bombs any time soon. As for joining the English Premier League. It's never going to happen. Not sure about Rangers, but I know Celtic have tried several times to get into the league and been knocked back everytime. It's nothing more than wishful thinking. The suggestion that both teams would be fighting relegation is nonsense. Neither would be winning it any time soon, there's no argument there but both teams have enough about them to stay well clear of the likes of Blackpool, Blackburn etc. If you take into account that they'd have more money to spend due to sponsorship and could attract better players due to being in a better league, they'd be doing ok. Like I said however, it will never happen. What I would think would be cool though is to see all the other big fish in small ponds around Europe create their own league. There would be more than enough teams to create a 1st and 2nd division. Again there are problems with UEFA so probably more day dreaming.

Ramos dropping the trophy off the bus was great.
We finished second in the championship one year without going up, if Celtic and Rangers joined we’d probably do it again.

Celtic are as bad as Rangers.
The Green Brigade with there no Bloostained* sign when it was memorial day for instance.
*That's not misspelled by the way that's the way Celtic fans spell Bloodstained.

Thinking about it, getting into Celtic/Rangers will end up Dibiase having to think of a new title pun.

In what way is singing a song about the IRA equal to Rangers fans rioting in Manchester?

Let's see you sing IRA songs and your trying to justify them?
I'm getting tired of seeing Rangers are worse than Celtic no it's the other way round argument in this thread and the past ones. I post in four different football forums and not once have i bothered about Old Firm in any them i come here and within in months all i seem to read is Celtic are worse than Rangers.
Why don't you go post at Pie and Bovril I'm sure they'll love your patter.

Agh, jesus, can we just drop the whole Celtic/Rangers crap? Its f***ing tiring hearing about it almost every day for the last 20 years of my life I'd like to escape it once in a while.

Let's see you sing IRA songs and your trying to justify them? You are making things up you mean? At no point have I said I sing IRA songs or tried to justify them. However I would say that an Irish folksong song mentioning the IRA (most of them do) does not mean they are glorifying them. As for being fed up hearing about the Old Firm, why involve yourself in the conversation? Any time the subject is brought up, you're one of the most vocal on here.

Ok everyone. The last thread was locked early because of arguing over Celtic/Rangers. Please don't make me have to lock another one up.
I don't mind people discussing football but when we have discussion about Political songs and negative generalisation of certain fans, then it's going too far.

Cool cool.
Back to football: I'm seeing none of it. In China right now and they're not big on football. I get the results from texts and the (limited) internet. The Great Wall is cool and all but I really am missing the beautiful game.

I think Wenger has lost his touch as a manager, a coach he's amazing still though. Kronkee should sit Wenger down and get him to look at moving towards going to a coaching job whilst moulding his protegee.

Well said Really getting tired of seeing people try and take the moral high ground on a subject that really has none On a total different subject, the Old Firm game is this wee.........dammit In all seriousness I'm actually quite disappointed Barca lost last night. Consider them my 2nd team

I think UEFA should abolish the qualification system for the European Championships.
There are only 53 members of UEFA
I propose inviting 11 North African nations into the competition and holding a 64 team seeded single elimination tournament.
After the first round (consisting of two legs), the remaining 32 nations will travel to the host nation for the tournament proper for a straight knockout competition.

The system even works great nowadays (as only the host doesn't have to qualify and the draw is as fair as you can get). There are way more stuff that UEFA and FIFA need to look into (like those 2 useless extra refs instead of cameras) than to change something that actually seems to work.

They waste too many matches with San Marino, Andorra, Luxembourg etc....
Those teams should join the Italian/French/German leagues like Monaco.
The Euros need to be distinct. The World Cup can retain the qualification/group format.

Yeah... but Monaco is basically a city and... that's it (seriously. It's the literal City-State). And only 2 football clubs: AS Monaco for the guys and OS Monaco for the gals. San Marino, Andorra, Luxembourg and such have quite some cities and populations, it's way easier to have about 10 teams there than Monaco who has one. As for the teams joining other leagues, it's not so easy, as all of those would be in secondary leagues if that, as most of their teams are amateur, not even semi-pro. For example, Liechtenstein has its best teams playing the Switzerland's 2nd league and with no promotion expectations in sight. Now, think of those countries that go to even more powerful leagues: no chance in hell will they amount to anything there. This way, at least they get their own league and can remain competitive in their own country. Also, I believe no federation would like to have 10 extra clubs joining them like that and obligating them to change the format of their comeptitions.
As for the national teams, it would be even more idiotic, and I'll stay in that.
