I'm 23, and recently got into an argument where I was called a loser because I'm still living at home. I graduated college w little over a year ago, have a job and mke my own money, so I know I'm not some kind of a loser, but the whole thing bothered me. So, how old is too old to still be living at home?

There's no really solid answer for that, because everyone's situation is different.

I don't know. I mean right now in this economy, it seems like a sound economic idea to live at home, if you could(you know, if you are single and stuff), it saves you money in the long run.

There iss no hard and fast rule. The poor global economy and the rising cost of living will see that age rising as well. At 23 its really not that unreasonable.
It is however a reasonable expectation that as soon as you can afford to live alone, or get a place with a friend, then you should. I live with my girlfriend and I'm paying far more than I would than I would at home, and sometimes i struggle to make ends meet, but I'd rather have that and my independence that exist with the safety net of my mother's home.

Depends. I'm 29 and some say I still live with my mom. In actuality, she lives with me because I pay all the bills, etc.
The common thought of living at home is that you're still under someone else's roof and it's kind of assumed that you don't have as many financial responsibilities as you would if you lived on your own. That's what I've gathered.

I moved out back in 1998 when I was 21. Took a 3 bedroom apartment with my girlfriend (at the time) and her brother. It was tough, but we managed. If I were 21 now, there's no way in hell I'd be able to afford it...roommates or not.

Given this economy and everyone's different unique situations, there isn't a number. There is a limit to being a freeloader though. Pitch in at least. (not directed at the OP, just a general thought)

I'm 25 and live with my mom, but I've been the bill payer for over 2 years now because of her work situation.
COULD I live on my own, yes. But I would also be the dick who left his mom out in the cold through no fault of her own. It's not her fault the economy isn't that great right now.
If I'm a loser because I live with my mom, then so be it. I think I'll survive. Everyone has different circumstances and situations. If people can't understand that and think it's a reason for ridicule, then f*** 'em.

(not directed at the OP, just a general thought) Of course that is if you can. I mean I do chores around the house, but that's all I can do right now. No money. I have like $0.03 in my checking account(and the minimum $5 needed in my saving's account to keep it open). I'll gladly pay once I find a job(they only want like $100 a month for rent once I get a job, that's cheaper than pretty much any other option I have at the moment).

As long as you don't give up, it's never too late to live at home (unless they are dead, of course).
What do I mean by giving up? Unemployed, don't even try nor want to find work, yell at Mom all the time for meatloaf.

It's different for everyone, I, for one, would feel extremely ashamed of myself if I was still living with my parents by the time I'm 25. I've just finished University and have already started looking into moving out.
But to each their own, people live their lives in different ways.

Given the craptastic job market there really is no answer to this question.

I'm living at home until I'm finished with grad school. I would live on my own, but all the money I saved up from working is going to pay for is so I can get out with as little debt as possible.
