Despite being the big Nintendo movie, the Wizard wasn't exactly the most accurate when it came to NES knowlege. There were far bigger mistakes than just "50,000 on Double Dragon"

I used to love watching this movie as a kid. Makes me want to hook up me old NES and start playing my games again.

There were far bigger mistakes than just "50,000 on Double Dragon" While the entire video is spot on, it's a bit nitpicky as none of that stuff actually affects the story at all. Though you can tell whoever wrote it still thought of games back in the earliest of the arcade era when it was all about points.

On one hand this is kinda nifty, on the other....what kind of tool/dork has the time to sit around and make a video detailing all of the things that The Wizard got wrong about Nintendo games...?

They showed how to get the whistle in the castle? It took me years to find that thing. You americans get it all so easy.

Well, you did say it was nifty, after all. I guess they just thought it'd be something people would enjoy.

Well, you did say it was nifty, after all. I guess they just thought it'd be something people would enjoy. And it is nifty, I think I'm more curious as to the thought process behind the idea. Like, someone had to sit around watching The Wizard and they have to think to themselves, "Boy there's a lot of mistakes about NES games in this flick." and that's where most peoples' thoughts on it would end if they even cared enough to have that thought in the first place. But then this person has to think, "People will care about this so I better make a video on youtube detailing every little mistake," and then to sit down and actually do it, which requires a bit of editing. I just find that whole idea funny/sad. But it still is a bit nifty.

I noticed a few of those when I first watched it, but not so many of them. I remember the music being different in TMNT (i'd recognize that anywhere), the Ninja Gaiden "not taken a hit" thing (never played it even to this day, but obviously he had taken a hit) and the differences in the point system for the tournament and the actual point system in SMB 3.
Big thing to keep in mind though, SMB 3 wasn't even out when this movie first arrived, so it wasn't like anyone in the theater could have possibly called B.S. on it.

I find the Ninja Gaiden "not taken a hit" thing pretty funny just for the fact that he's like 10 seconds into the game, not exactly much of an accomplishment.

They should make a sequel where he discovers, and prematurely shows off, the wonder of the Wii-U.

We had the freaking U-Force. Now that controller was ass; at least you could do some stuff with the power glove. My brother beat the first two Ninja Gaidens because, evidently, he was being trained to pilot an EVA unit as a teen and was bad ass enough to do so.
