Has there ever been an alternate Superman? Discounting Bizarro of course.

Does The Man of Steel, The Man of Tomorrow, The Metropolis Kid and The Last Son of Krypton count as alt Supermen?

Superman's never been semi-permanently replaced the way Captain America, Batman, GL and others have, but when he was dead 4 guys tried.

Now you just made me depressed. I hope some series are taking the GL approach to the Reboot and just sequelising in the form of a reboot. But even that's a lie. They cant say they are keeping his history and then have Abin Sur alive and Sinestro a good GL again. That alone changes and deletes huge events and characterisations. What are you talking about? Sinestro isn't a good GL as of the reboot and I'm quite sure Sur is going back to dead after Flashpoint is over.

Sinestro is on covers for the new GL books in a green suit, therefore he is back to being a GL, not yellow. In fact, he's going to be THE Green Lantern come the relaunch when the main GL book sees Sinestro become the lead instead of Hal

He's not a GOOD GL though, If you read War of the Green Lanterns and it's aftermath you'd know that due to certain circumstances the ring found its way to Sinestro's hand and he doesn't want any part of it but he can't take it off for some reason.

True enough. For now anyway, it still isn't clear how much the whole 'restart' will hit the GL corner of DC, as it seems to be pretty immune, which is great for GL fans, but generally pretty unfair that Johns pet is safe but Secret Six still got canned.
No, I wont stop going on about that.

Not to be "that guy" but Wikipedia is your friend. It's obviously not 100% accurate all the time, but if you look up Batman or Robin, it will tell you the histories of the characters and state what happened in major storylines and stuff.
Then, if any of those stories sound interesting to you, you can get them at the comic shop, bookstore, or Amazon.

Tim Drake was nearly raped? Better nearly than mind raped like the DCAU version was. Or, like Batman and Nightwing were before, actually raped.

There has been several people who've assumed the role of Captain America.
1. William Nasland, who was previously the hero the Spirit of '76
2. Jeffery Mace, the Patriot (Marvel recently put out a pretty good mini series about his time as Cap)
3. The 1950s era Cap, who went insane and became a villain, fighting Steve Rogers a couple of times and then Bucky/Cap as well.
4. Some guy named Roscoe took the role after Steve Rogers, disillusioned with America after finding out the head of the villainous organization the Secret Empire was in fact Richard Nixon a high ranking government official, ditched it and became Nomad. (Roscoe wound up getting killed by the Red Skull, which inspired Cap to assume the role once again)
5. John Walker, who had been a more right wing superhero called the Super Patriot took over when Captain America didn't want to work for the govt anymore and became "The Captain" because the feds owned the rights to the name. (Walker later became the USAgent, using the costume Rogers wore as The Captain)
6. There was a Super Sailor who wore the Cap costume in the not very good "Captain America vs, the Falcon" series (he may not count though, since both he and Rogers were around at the same time in the role)
7. Way, waaay back, an old Human Torch villain called the Acrobat wore the Captain America costume and tried to convince people he was the original. The positive reaction of seeing the character again is probably what convinced Marvel Comics to bring him back in the Avengers.

If I'm not mistaken, after Captain America was 'assassinated', the Punisher took his place for a while. Here is a list of people who have been Captain America in the main Marvel universe. 1.1 Steven Rogers (Revolutionary War Era) 1.2 Steve Rogers 1.3 Isaiah Bradley 1.4 William Naslund 1.5 Jeffrey Mace 1.6 William Burnside 1.7 Bob Russo 1.8 "Scar" Turpin 1.9 Roscoe Simons 1.10 John Walker 1.11 Sam Wilson 1.12 Clint Barton 1.13 James Buchanan Barnes 1.14 Dave Rickford The mantle has gone around. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_incarnations_of_Captain_America

And while we are the on the subject, Bruce Banner has always been the "Incredible" Hulk, no matter what incarnation (grey, green etc), however, there is also a Red Hulk, who is Thunderbolt Ross, and the original Abomination (Emil Blonsky) is dead, but there is a new Abomination called A-Bomb, who is Rick Jones, and also a new MODOK.
Just reading Hulk comics these days is enough to make you angry.
