To this, you are only half right. We might have no idea what to do, but we absolutely know what NOT to do.
We might not know what's wrong, but defnitely know what's wrong.
The IWC may not able to provide a coherent non-contradictory, non-conflictual, plan, but we completely competent in our ability to point out doesn't work and what not to do, something WWE seems unable to understand right now.
Seems to me WWE understand that bringing the Rock and Steve Austin back -- in any role -- draws viewers and will drive PPVs.
If a lot of people on here had their way, the main event of WM27 would be Bryan Danielson vs. Kaval, with John Morrison vs. Christian in the co-main event.
When clearly it should be Broadus Clay vs. Sunny.
I can't speak for everyone but, at this point, there should be new main eventers. You can only do a nostalgia pop so many times before it starts to lose relevancy. Even Hogan's nostalgia pop started to wane when he made his last WWE run.
I understand why WWE wants to bring in Rock and Austin; it does increase ratings and buy rates. I also believe that they're smart enough to do it sporadically, for important events, making their participation important enough to keep viewers interested.
However, you can only do this so much. The fact is, it's getting less and less likely that Rock will ever wrestle again and Austin might have, at most, a few matches left in him. Moreover, there may come a time when Rock and Austin just plain don't want to show up anymore. Contrary to what some people have said (not necessarily here), having the Rock outpopping everyone on the show is not necessarily a good thing.
That said, I think it was great that Miz showed up, looked strong, and cut a strong promo last Monday. I hope we get more of that.
