The original idea of WWE movies was to make stars of it's wrestlers wasn't it? I mean, like the scorpion king did for the rock and all those cruddy films did for Hulk Hogan. They wanted to make films that would make some money and get their guys into the mainstream. Now the films may make a bit of cash, but they aren't brekaing through into the mainstream at all, instead the same people who watch WWE anyway are watching them and buying the dvd's. It may make money, but in terms of it's original idea it failed a long time ago. Ironically, the best way for WWE stars to become mainstream is by having them wrestle.

That's one way, but having them make low budget crap films that have a small release then go to dvd to make their money back isn't a way. WWE films is now basically a small production company like hundreds of others, no more, no less.

They do make a profit on DVD sales, but it's so bare and minimal... iit's nothing really special. Why do we see terrible straight to DVD releases from bigger studios? Because someone would buy it, most likely. And it's apparently dirt cheap (comparatively) to do so. As long as it's not hampering my wrestling, I shouldn't care. And I don't. The WWE has managed to keep their movie business out of their wrestling and TV so far, so that shouldn't anger anyone. Legendary and Knucklehead have actually both lost money on DVD sales. For now. They'll make it up down the line. But to clarify, I'm not for this. But considering it's not affecting the wrestling too much, I don't have enough gripe against it. If they start REALLY interrupting the wrestling, you'll bet I'll come hardline against it.

I would like to know where people are finding information on Legendary and Knucklehead because I've been able to look up anything on them and would appreciate the resources/links about their gross so far.

I got this from Box Office Mojo for Legendary. $200,393 I don't know how much it cost to make Legendary, but I think it's definitely higher than THAT.

I don't mind WWE making films. I just wish they'd go back to making cheesy action films instead of cheesy family films. Say what you will about the Marine. It was bad. But it was bad in the same way that Chuck Norris and Jean Claude VanDamme movies were in the 80's, which means it was also awesome at the same time.

Is the Chaperone even family friendly? I mean it is rated PG-13 and it does seems a little extreme for little kids.

Did Legendary? The Variety article said it made 3.8 million. It couldn't have cost that much to produce, could it?
