Wade Barrett, formerly the most hated person in the WWE, coming out to a near-dead crowd.
There's really no excuse for that.

At least he still looked dominant at the end w/ the Corre.

They shouldn't have pushed him so fast. Nowhere to go but down.
However, Wade has been around for barely a year. His career is hardly over.

The Corre was getting heat at the end of the match. He was facing Zeke, who the crowd really didn't care about the feud.

He's still over. That Corre beatdown on Zeke got way more heat than it should've, given their stances on the card.

The crowd just seemed dead for just about everything, to be honest.

I imagine we'll see a carbon copy of this thread in six months when the Miz is finally buried all the way to China by John Cena.

In all seriousness, yes it's sad. Barrett is victim of stable-happy booking, overloaded midcard, Cenorton machine, and writers with ADHD. Sad. But I have faith that he'll...feud with DB someday.....please? Pretty please?

Everyone should just be glad he isn't suffering the same curse that all the other NXT winners are.

Well he's not throwing water on Cena. Let's not get things mixed up here, it was Barrett's smug James Bond villain mannerisms that sold that angle, not Cena or the Nexus. He could've had Chavo forced to be his personal slave and he would've been just as hated doing what he did.

Maybe it's because he's been doing the same schtick for a while now. Time to go solo.

The crowd warmed up during that one, I will admit, but it still seemed pretty lukewarm. The Attitude Era crowds are the benchmark for what I consider a hot crowd. You just rarely get crowds like that any more.

It's sad, but he should count his blessings considering the show he came from. Look at the WWE career of almost everyone else from the entire NXT continuity.

He could've had Chavo forced to be his personal slave and he would've been just as hated doing what he did. bullshit. That entire angle was based on him doing what he did to the TOP guy, which had never been done before on that level. Nexus' debut was based on that. It gave him a good platform to show off, but kids were crying when he beat Cena, because it was Cena who lost, not because it was Barrett who won. It was only logical that once he didn't get the top storyline, against the top face, he'd fall a bit. Maybe not to current levels, but him feuding with Kofi wouldn't be nearly as effective.

And I'll say bullshit in return. Cena's been beaten down and defeated before, and never got the universal reaction that he did when he was feuding with Wade.

Attitude Era level or not, it's still ridiculous to consider tonights crowd dead.
