....that the match for the Big Gold Belt curtain jerked WrestleMania, in Atlanta, in the Georgia Dome?
Is it just a coincidence, that the last real WCW champion was stunned for no real reason at WrestleMania, in Atlanta, in the Georgia Dome
or am I looking WAY too much into this?

You're looking too much into it.
For one thing, Austin Stunners virtually everyone. I was amazed he didn't stun King.

Is it just a coincidence that a bunch of people are criticizing a Wrestlemania that took place in Atlanta?
WCW curzzzee, I tells ya.

Honestly, you could be looking too much into it, or you could be right. Vince McMahon is pretty f***ing petty.

Austin stunned Booker for interrupting his beer celebration.

And somewhere Ted Turner (after seeing the very mixed reception to this card) is laughing, repeating to himself the quote Vince once said to him: "I'm in the sports entertainment business", indeed.

Also: The U.S. Title match, the last active belt with acknowledged WCW lineage, got pushed off the card entirely.

So if WWE now owns the attendance record for an "entertainment" event in the Georgia Dome, does that mean WCW still owns the attendance record for a "wrestling" event?

I don't think it was a coincidence at all. The folks running WWE know as much about history as we do. It was their conscious choice to ignore the anniversary of the WCW buyout and the significance of a Wrestlemania in Atlanta. As soon as they announced they were having WM in Atlanta, fans began speculating about who would be in the Hall of Fame and who might make special return appearances, and the WWE chose to do none of that. They made a statement tonight that WCW is dead and gone, and it's not something that should be celebrated.
No wonder Sting turned down the offer to be a part of the show.

For the record, Scott Steiner was the last real WCW Champion. Booker T was booked to win the belt by Vince.
Not to nitpick or anything :-P

The end of the last match was definitely a fitting tribute to a typical WCW event.
The guy standing tall is the guy who left without giving the company a second look 7 years ago.

I don't understand this mentality - if McDonalds put Burger King out of business you wouldn't be expecting McDonalds to be having 10 year remembrances of Burger King's defeat or anything like that.
i.e. WCW is long dead and buried and there's no reason or benefit for WWE to bring them up.

Is it just a coincidence that a bunch of people are criticizing a Wrestlemania that took place in Atlanta? WCW curzzzee, I tells ya. People criticize almost every Mania. If I was inspired to go back and find threads right after the last one took place, I'm sure it had very, very few fans.

Oh, there was certainly a fair amount of smark grumbling, but I remember last year's 'Mania getting a pretty positive reception on here. Wrestlemania 25 was bitched about, but even that seemed a lot more subdued than what we're getting tonight.
