Like someone else already said, it's really easy to see that the guy busts his ass out there. I also really appreciate the fact that he never turned heel on his fans. He stayed loyal to the "Peeps", and always acknowledged them even during his heel runs.

Iv always been a fan of him but specifically his TNA and ECW Title runs really cememted it for me. He somehow was able to make the ECW Title look like a legit world title by the match quality, the promo's, his characteristics/body language (something that I feel he is very talented at, see Extreme Rules. Especially compared to others on the roster).
Slightly off the topic, but something that has always got me about the wwe's booking of him over the years. Why has he for most of the Money in the Bank matches he has been in he has either been the 'runner up' or the third person on the ladder before the end, is there any explanation for this?

Been a fan of him since I started watching wrestling in 2004. Loved his heel work. He's so good on the mic and he always has fantastic matches. Now he's my favorite wrestler, but he's always been in my top 5. Same here. I started watching around the time Orton was chasing Triple H for the belt, and it didn't take me long to discover how charismatic Christian was. Also, I started wondering why he lost pretty much every single match he was in...

One thing I was wondering, was Christian ever a face between his E&C run and TNA? I only strated watching in 2004 Yes. When e&c split from the brood they turned face. Then during the invasion he was a tweener while edge was a face. He kinda briefly turned kinda face for a bit when he was ddps protege and also kinda towards the end of the christian jericho team he was a tweener sorta.

Speaking as a guy who missed out on his entire TNA run and most of his last 2 years in WWE before his move to TNA, I love Christian because he is ridiculously good in the ring. He was always really good before and won over the fans with all the big bumps and ladder match and his antics with Edge. But since he returned on 2009 on ECW, he has been an absolute BEAST in there. He kind of cooled off in 2010 because of injuries/lack of relevance in storylines, but since his return he's been back to that incredible form he was at 2 years ago. When motivated and healthy, he is one of the very best wrestlers in the world.

You know, I was a fan of E&C as a whole from the Brood through their tag team title reigns, but Christian never really jumped out for me then. He didn't during his Invasion or DDP protege days either. When he started his Captain Charisma gimmick though, he really started to grow on me...to the point where I remember throwing something across the room when he didn't defeat Cena in the triple threat match to take the title to Smackdown. (I had a lot less annoyance with Cena's booking back then too so it wasn't because he went over.) It just seemed like a waste of talent to me and TNA jumped on it and gave him his chance. He flat out ruled in TNA, especially with the Christian Coalition. It saddens me that Vince just doesn't see in him what TNA did.

I've always liked him since the Brood days. I noticed he was usually, taking the bigger bumps. Not that Edge didn't take his share but it seemed like Christian was carrying a bit more of the weight. Just a bit. Then when they became goofballs I realized they were more than spot monkeys. They had charisma, but I still wasn't sold on Christian being a main eventer until they paired him with Tomko and he became Captain Charisma. I wanted to see him main event and luckily I got the chance with TNA and he didn't disappoint. Great cocky promos and amazing matches. He was toned down when he came back on ECW but still had a few funny promos like with Lo Fez and he was still great in the ring.

Like many others it's Christian's work ethic that really won me over. He was a favorite in the tail end of his first WWE run but to be honest, I love his second run so much more than his first and am somewhat dreading the possibility of a heel turn.
I mean it's Christian, so heel or face he's gonna be entertaining. But the guy is just so damn likable it's impossible to root against him. He's worked so hard, he left the company, cranked up his already great in ring performance ten fold and came back. Every match he has is great and he brings out something new out of everyone(He made Ezekial look better than anyone else since ECW).
Ever since he added a more serious side to him, it's made him that much more bankable in my eyes as a main eventer.

I think he's one of those wresters that the IWC as a whole have always appreciated but since he's not been in the spotlight doesn't get mentioned much. That's why it seems like so many people have jumped on the bandwagon in recent weeks.
Work ethic, quality matches, charisma, "underdog" status, keeping his nose clean - all these have kept him bubbling under I reckon.
By the way, is there a DVD of hiis TNA run?

Instant Classic:The Best of Christian Cage. After all this talk, I think I might have to order it.

For me, it was his TNA run. TNA treated him like a HUGE deal, and he was able to really work on his Main Event game there. Christian as top heel with AJ as his goofball sidekick ("I get to ride with Christian!!!") was great, and then the slow burn on Christian's face turn where he had to earn the trust of the locker room back was a great idea too. Of course, that all burned out and he decided to leave the company, but he learned how to be a main eventer in TNA, and then when he came back they let him carry ECW on his back, where he was having the best match of the night every PPV with any opponent they threw at him, from Shelton Benjamin to Big Zeke. At the same time, he was having great TV matches with Yoshi Tatsu, Zack Ryder, William Regal, etc...
Christian left WWE as a work in progress and came back a complete package.

Because he is good, and the WWE dont want to recognise it.
He has talent as a talker, and as a wrestler. Thats all we ask for.

Because he is good, and the WWE dont want to recognise it. He has talent as a talker, and as a wrestler. Thats all we ask for. That's pretty much it. I liked Christian when he was teamed with Edge, but I didn't really get into his singles run. I don't know what Rock told him behind the scenes, but it must have been really inspirational or something because he really changed for the better. Then he had his run in TNA (sometimes I wish he would have stayed) and that was what made me a fan of his. I missed his run on Raw back when he was feuding with Jericho and Cena so I watched it. What I realized is that of the three, Christian seemed to be the most vibrant of them. He didn't come off as tired or out of his depth like the other two. It's ridiculous that Christian basically did what Vince claims will make you a "Superstar" and yet he got punished for it. I mean, it used to annoy me that someone like Batista or Cena could get pushed to no end and yet Christian basically got nothing when he came back. Yeah, he was a great ECW champ, but at the time I was thinking "Why isn't he on Smackdown?" And then once ECW got cancelled, they just had him lingering around. Now that they finally give him the title, they snatch it from him just to put it on Orton, a man who didn't need the bloody belt. I'll be disgusted if they use this as a reason to turn him heel.

The IWC always marks for TNA guys. It's a proven fact. Erm...no. Youve seen a few of TNAs best workers over the last 8 years get praised on the internet for being good at their job (Joe, Daniels, AJ, Christian when he was there) and to you that means the hivemind of the IWC just gets a huge boner for anyone from TNA. TNA has, and has had, a lot of great people work for them.

Cause of the E&C days and on top of that he was awesome in TNA, and when he was midcard in ECW when he came back he was still awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
