I see a lot of hate for Cena's finisher, but why? It may not be as devastating as a Death Valley Driver which impacts the head, but I can still buy it as a finisher. Maybe not an instant death finisher like the RKO, but certainly enough to knock the wind out of someone, and to pin an opponent for 3.
I would argue that it has more impact than the Rock Bottom, and Cena is also slamming them down from higher up, yet that move never gets any hate.
Also as far as 'realistic' finishers go, This is one of the only ones that could ever be performed and end a fight in real life. It makes me laugh when people say you could do a pedigree, for example, in real life when there is no way an opponent would A) Stay standing and let you put your head between their legs, why wouldn't they drop to their knees?, B) Allow you to hook their arms, C) Throw their own legs back out from under them so their face hits the floor.
The AA is one of the few moves which is all on the attacker to deliver. The RKO, Chokeslam, Pedigree etc rely entirely on the opponents help.
It may not be flashy, but it looks impactful enough.

Is it really that hated around here? I find it to be a particularly iconic finisher at this point.

Its better than the majority of finishers used in WWE nowadays.
I never got the 'its just a firemans carry' thing.

Honestly it's more the name than the move itself for me. An Attitude Adjustment sounds more like something a character with the gimmick of a parent or teacher would use than the supposed top babyface of the company.

When he drops down with them it looks a lot better. Its just for awhile he seemed to just flip them off his shoulders and that was it. He's gotten a lot better with it lately.

Yeah, I haven't heard much hate for it around here and actually like it myself.

The AA has always been one of my favorite finishers. Add to the fact that it leaves room for extra creativity as well -- you can AA someone off a stage, through a table, AA two people at a time, etc

The move looks more impactful the quicker he hits it I think.

Yeah, when he puts an effort into it it's a really good looking finisher. But if he half asses it it looks like crap. The one he did to Miz at 'Mania looked freakin' AMAZING! And the fact that Miz kicked out made him look like a million bucks. They really should have talked about that more, that Miz kicked out of that viscous AA

If he rides through the move, it's fine. If he doesn't, it looks really crappy, like Barrett's finish.

It looks fine to me. Same thing with Barret's finisher, I'm baffled by that people'd think a move where you basically slam the guy onto the floor as hard as you can doesn't look devastating enough.

'Cuz it's mine? Seriously, I'm with the majority. When he follows through with it, it's a devastating move. But when he half-asses it, you can tell; he basically has them fly through it, then he slaps them on the chest like he's pushing them down.

The problem is that everyone has moves like that. Doesn't look very special. I mean, if it were a shoot, I'd rather have Barrett's finish put on me, than Mark Henry's which are similiar, except one has a fat guy squashing me too.

I just wish he was more consistent with the move. You either go down with the opponent and drive them to the floor, or you toss them over your shoulder and let them free fall to the floor. Pick one.
