Ok so recently this arrived on my doorstep..... And of course I was admiring it, and came across this... It also appears on the the Undisputed Championship. Anyway what it says is "Sic nos sic sacra tuemur" which Translated into English means "Thus we guard our sacred rights". Which turns out is the the McMahon family motto, and the shield with the three lions is the McMahon coat of arms. I can't decide if that was pure genius or vanity of the company for putting that on its world title. It was definitely something I didn't know before I looked it up. I think this would qualify as an obscure WWE fact, and the purpose of this thread is for people to post other little known facts about the company. So have at it.

Is this on all the championship belts? Thats incredibly lame, I know they own the company but the company itself, the belts and the wrestlers should be more important than the Mcmahon family

So does this mean the McMahons will soon take over the English FA?

Yeah, I don't think it's overly vain or selfish. The man owns the company, and therefore the belts, and has literally put his entire life into making the company a success. I think it's a cool little touch.

The company is synonymous with McMahon. It's only fitting that the belt reflect that. It's also the McMahon seal of approval, of sorts. If this was 1000 years ago, if Lord McMahon had wanted you to carry his standard bearing his coat of arms...whew.

Ok to get back on track with the obscure facts. WWE did not own Coliseum Video. It was owned by Evart Enterprises which was primarily a porn distributor.

In 1998 the WWF purchased Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas with plans to turn it into WWF themed casino and resort. Nothing ever came of it and they quietly sold the property in 2000. www.canoe.ca/SlamWrestlingArchive/aug6_hotel.html

i wonder if they understand that coat of arms are mostly bullshit and apply only to specific families. for example, my family has no coat of arms because we were poor and fled england. however, a family with the same last name has a coat of arms, but me taking it would be pretty fake.
then again, maybe mcmahon's family actually has it? if so, pretty awesome

I was looking forward to it, actually.

The thing about the belts is very cool and even if that's not actually their seal the fact that someone though to put a seal of the McMahon's on the belts is impressive.

I don't know it counts, But for as long as wwe has been around they have enforced a 5 count for anyone who goes on the top rope (watch older videos and you will see the ref issue it (not that he would enforce it) this is because back in the territory days going to the top rope was illegal.

I remember back in 1992 when WCW was about to have the tournament to crown new NWA Tag Team Champs, there was a press conference they showed, and there were 2 WWF mics on the podium with a bunch of others. Someone even asked Jim Ross about it on his old radio show that was on WSB. He said something to the affect of that the WWF was considering sending a team to enter the tournament.
I'm sure he was kayfabing like mad, but that doesn't change that WCW used those WWF microphones on TV. You know the ones, they had the WWF logo in yellow on them.
