Nobody will ever take them seriously outside of wrestling.... so why try?

Sounds interesting, particularly the HHH bit. At the end of the day, we'll still get our wrestling every week and that is all that matters to me. If they want to try and branch out with other stuff then good for them.

It's been tried before. It never works. Once they try to do non wrestling related stuff, it crashes and burns.
WWE's loathing of wrestling makes about as much sense as Exxon loathing oil.

I find it interesting that it was HHH who signed Sin Cara. No complaints about HHH from me.

I'd be fine with them experimenting and trying new things, as long as it felt like wrestling would always be their main priority. I'm just not getting that vibe recently though.

Besides HHH's new position in the business, I can tell that some dark days are a coming...

"Two key components to WWE’s brand expansion will be the active pursuit to acquire entertainment content companies and the outsourcing of WWE’s core competencies – television and film production, live event production and licensing." I'm confused what this means, does "acquiring entertainment content companies" refer to buying other wrestling companies or buying re-runs of old tv shows or what? It sounds like buying small production companies or those cut from larger ones. Which sounds like a great way to go bankrupt. There is no competition for WWE so I really think they are hellbent to beating themselves anymore. They will be there own downfall I feel.

True, though I have the feeling they are going to shove this so far down our throats it's coming out our asses (hell, they're already halfway there with the entertainment thing and they've not actually started) and when this inevitably fails it's going to cost them a lot of money that'll likely wind up negatively affecting the on-air product.

If they want to try and branch out with other stuff then good for them. The only problem is that a lot of time on Raw and Smackdown will be taken up for them to promote those outside ventures. I mean we are still getting The Chaperone promos and that's been on DVD for over a month.

I just want to see some kind of mass ensemble project. Either a new Rock 'n' Wrestling cartoon or that Cannonball Run-style comedy that (I think) Colt Cabana suggested they should do would work for me.

Excited about Triple H's new talent department, not so excited about the 'beyond our core entity' thing. Yeah, it really makes no sense to me. Especially since, y'know, WWE Films can only be called a success in the sense that it's barely scraping by - the fact that all they can manage is "limited engagements" is a good example of that. I'd think any more reasonable company would shut down a division that takes up that much money and time given how little of a profit it provides in doing so. The only reason they do those "Limited Engagements" is so Wal-Mart will release their movies instantly. That's why the DVD's come out shortly after it's theatrical run. If not for that, they'd go straight-to-DVD. Which may not sound great on paper, but that route is very profitable, especially nowadays.

Yeah, I know, but if they were the fantastic movie studio they treat themselves like they'd actually be able to make money in theaters.
