In addition to focusing on the expansion of the company, the company will bolster its core business with the launch a new talent development department headed by Paul “Triple H®” Levesque. The new department will put a greater emphasis on worldwide recruitment, training and character development to identify future WWE Superstars and Divas. The first recruit acquired under Levesque’s new department was the signing last month of future WWE Superstar, Sin Cara™, formerly known worldwide as Mistico. Quick question: That position that Trips has is the one held by Jim Ross and Johnny Ace?

You know, Triple H's first act in office was signing Mistico, saying the hell with the fact he can't speak english, and brought him in WWE with his in-ring style intact, having him bypass the Florida clone factory. .........I'm not saying he's the saviour, but that's a pretty damn good start. Do you honestly believe Triple H had anything significant to do with the Sin Cara signing?

The way they are talking, it's like they scrapped the previous department and start anew. Good thing if they did. PLEASE, open more than one development system ran by people of different styles and mindset, PLEASE. I'm tired of clones!

Well, at least they are still recognizing themselves as wrestling and they just want to go beyond that. And the positive of Triple H being a head of talent developmental. Obviously, with the signing of Sin Cara, he has an idea of wrestling around the world. I wonder if any of the bigger Japanese names could end up coming into WWE. My fear with Triple H as the head of talent is guys who are smaller might not get the opportunity to make it, like, I think back to an interview he did before Wrestlemania 18 about Jericho being too small, or something like that, but maybe he was in character. I also heard a story, which maybe false, that he didn't think Kurt Angle should be World Champion because of his size, and Gerald Brisco said that they should have a shoot match to see if he could beat him. Other then that, Triple H is an old school wrestling fan, and that's what he'll probably be looking for. Maybe he's changed his ways, considering how often he puts over his best friend as the best he's ever been in the ring with and that his first acquisition was a teeny luchador.

Plus he was Punk's big supporter, and even in talking about Kurt Angle's three I's days he was more physically intimidating than Punk ever was.

It honestly wouldn't shock me if Trips was behind the Jon Moxley signing as well. I know that they've been signing more indy talent as of late (a few is still more than "none"), but that one came out of nowhere. He's a great talent, but he's usually the type of guy the WWE goes for.

Triple H is not small, but he's not exactly a monster either. I don't see him insisting on pushing bodybuilders with 5 moves of doom.
And does this mean that Johnny Ace is finally on his way out the door?

I would rather trust Triple H to find talent than Johnny Ace. At least I'd see Trips watching a SHIMMER DVD for instance, rather than reading a catalogue. All the divas and future divas will be strong muscular tall Amazonian women. The return of Aloisia?

Wait, didn't they send JR down to Mexico to sign Sin Cara?
That's the impression I got from stories, the WWE press conference and JR's tweets about it.

So..the company goes from calling itself WWE to WWE.
Am I the only one confused at the giant uproar here?

I'm excited about HHH taking over Johnny Ace's job. But I want to know what that outsourcing sentence means. It means they'll be paying another organisation to do those tasks for them, and could mean a loss of jobs as a result. I don't like the sound of it, as someone else pointed out, their production standards are excellent, and could be jeopardised.

Most businesses I know of don't outsource their core competencies - they usually outsource the ones they're not so good at.

Funny how people hated Hunter earlier this year now suddenly think he is the savior of WWE.
Personally I have no problem with WWE's new strategy. They looked at what Disney has done the last few decades and decide they went to be the same type of company. Does it suck they aren't a pro wrestling company? Yes, but they been moving away from that word for the last 14 years. All they are doing now is making it official.

Most businesses I know of don't outsource their core competencies - they usually outsource the ones they're not so good at. That's what it should be, if you're s*** at it or don't have the personnel, you outsource it. So, why are the WWE outsourcing these things I have no idea? I'm not an expert on business, currently studying it at school, yet it's obvious you never outsource CORE activities, that's why they're core, they are vital to your success as a business. If they source it to people who are experts at production, it may not be as bad, but they'd be treading a very fine line. If they outsource to the wrong people, they could face serious problems, especially in those areas noted in the article. I hope Vince knows what he's doing. Do WWE publish annual financial accounts? Or are they private?

Like I said in the other thread, someone really needs to hammer into Vince McMahon's head that he will never succeed at anything that's not wrestling. This, as I've stated before Vince is king of wreslting other forms of entertainment not so much. We could be watching mad King Ludwig destroy himself right before our eyes.
