When Orton got hit in the head with the belt by Christian he sold it better than any belt shot I've seen before.
Most of the time, a shot to the head with a belt looks lame, but Orton sold it perfectly. I swear he is the best seller in WWE now Michaels has retired.
On another note, his match against Sheamus was terrific. Who says these guys have no chemistry together?

Orton is underrated, its just he has a predicatable and unexcited style (except his finisher)
But yeah, that boy can f***ing sell, the belt shot was amazing and no one made Sweet Chin Music look better.
If only he was interesting. I'd think he was amazing!

John Cena needs to take note on how Orton sells. It's probably been said before but he really does.
And yes his match with Sheamus was good and very competetive. As it should be.

Randy Orton is a pro wrestler. Now he is on the pro wrestling show, he is a star.
Randy Orton is a guy who you could drop into the time era where there were no over the top angles, etc. and he would make it. His entire in ring style, personality and demeanour are old school.
The fact he is one of the top 2 in the company and he barely has about 5 minutes of promo time a year says all you need to know. The guy is a bloody good pro wrestler.

I'm no Orton fan (other than I'll admit he does have a certain intangible charisma) but I will admit that was a wicked sell, to the point where I thought (and still really have no idea) he got clobbered by the belt.

He did get hit with the belt. You hear the sound (not a WWE edit) and you see the recoil on his head.
They only do that slow-mo replay when there is real contact. Like when Big Show punched Jericho, when Jericho punched Mrs HBK and when Orton really punted Vince in the head and cut him open.

Randy was the best seller when HBK was still going. Thats taking nothing away from Shawn, but Orton has always been a phenomenal seller. Best in the business.

Orton and Sheamus do have chemistry together, but it's a match WWE has already run into the ground. Their heel vs. heel match at the '10 Rumble was a bad idea, their SummerSlam match was great, and their Hell in a Cell match was completely unnecessary and unmemorable. Should have just given Sheamus his rematch on RAW, imo.

I know it doesn't have much to do with this conversation but I want Orton to pull out the dropkick on more occasions. Like 300 times a match would do. I think it's best executed dropkick in da bidness.

I remember watching a SCM montage just to see Orton's selling. It was awesome.

Yeah now that I think about it going all the way back to when he was beat down by Evolution the guy sold so well. Actually....I probably noticed it in that Street Fight he had with Cactus Jack, that was the match they made me an Orton mark.

Cena's problem is not the selling of a move, in terms of taking the move I mean. If he gets RKOed, Batista bombed, Pedigreed or whatever it looks perfectly good. His problem is after taking a big move, he will go into 'dead sell' mode (as Power Slam magazine calls it), basically acting like he is completely unconcious/dead. And then he will later pop right up like he is superman. He is still far from as bad as people say he is though (imo).

Yeah, Cena's good at selling individual moves, he just tends to forget to continue to do so and, when selling the effects of a beating while nothing's going on, he tends to do badly at it.

Agreed...he makes everything he takes look excellent. A co-worker of mine, who isn't a wrestling fan, has even acknowledged how great a "faker" Orton is.

Yeah, Cena's problem is that he doesn't sell anything for very long. He sells it, takes a power nap, and then is good as new.

Yeah, Cena's problem is that he doesn't sell anything for very long. He sells it, takes a power nap, and then is good as new. To be fair, that's not a rare problem. There's the HBK method: "Taken backdrop after backbreaker? Been working my back the whole match? Better kip up!"

It was a good sell job, but the notion that he and Michaels are two of the best sellers in the business is laughable.
