Man, the fact that he's using this again makes my life hell. As an indy guy over here in the UK, I wrestle as "The Cult of Personality" Corey Valo Carver, and use it as a theme... guarentee I'm going to get a lot of "U WANNA BE CM PUNKZ!" off people now... not fun. That reminds me of the episode of Doug where everybody thought Doug was copying Dylan Farnum's clothes, even though Doug dressed like that for years.

So I just got around to watching it and i'm kinda meh on it. Granted I never saw the original summer of Punk when I guess he used this theme so that might have something to do with it. As a stand alone song I like it but as an entrance theme i'll pass unless they remix it. There's a perfectly good remix of Punk's theme that Orton's used that one time. I'm pretty sure they'll cheap out and just dub TFB anyways so I dont see the point of changing his theme.

I don't know a lot about AFI, but that dude sounds like someone is squeezing his balls for that whole song. He's just got a higher-pitched voice. He always has. If anything, it's gotten deeper in recent years...but Davey's still pretty high register.

Do you think how much the WWE pays for using songs by bands? Has the price ever been found out?

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but according to F4WOnline, “Cult of Personality” broke the top 200 on iTunes Monday night.

Do you think how much the WWE pays for using songs by bands? Has the price ever been found out? Bands and the record/publishing companies set their own prices for their work. Simply playing the song on an original broadcast costs much less than releasing this broadcast with the song on a DVD/Blu-ray because in that case they are selling a broadcast with their song on it and thus making money off it.

True, but I think that speaks volumes for how much this Punk angle is working; where a 23 year-old song resurfaces on a musical chart. That can't be a complete coincidence.

Also, I find it somewhat interesting that his previous song was a 'rock' song sung by a black person & now his new' song is a 'rock' song, sung by a black person. Are you suggesting black people can't sing rock songs? Because they, um...they kind of invented rock n'roll, y'know? Except that's not true. It was Calvin Klein who invented it in 1955. Chuck & Marvin Berry just stole his sound, and possibly killed him. But that's never been proven.

I guess now we can say that Punk draws money.
I bet you Living Colours are VERY happy about the sales. I'm thinking they don't show up on the charts much anymore.

After watching a replay of Monday's confrontation, I take back what I said earlier. I would be totally fine with CM Punk using this as his theme for a little while. I would still want him to go back to This Fire Burns as some point though. Just think... that's be another markout moment when we hear that song again for the first time in months.

Punk pretty much stated CoP is his new permanent theme in the Bill Simmons interview. So while I'll definitely miss This Fire Burns and it's sweet intro riff, I accept Cult of Personality with open arms.

I like that he believes that he needs a new theme and new attire since it's a new character for him. I wish everybody cared that much about their character. Btw: Cult of Personality is now in the Top 100 on Itunes at #97, that's awesome.

I was going to type metal, but I'm not sure if Cult f Personality could be classified as a metal song. Also, are you accusing me of being racist? Cult of Personality is funk metal. And maybe Punk's next theme will be a Sevendust tune. ;D

My ipod did a strange thing today regarding this song. I hit shuffle and it played. I marked a little and sang along. Then it played my sound file of the Punk shoot right after. I was amazed.
